"Like everything, there were pros and cons and when you compare this with other local options it’d would be disingenuous and lazy to rate everything 10/10. For example, there was a lot of bowls, mugs etc but some had obviously been broken before and not replaced. Light shades were resting on lightbulbs which freaked us out. Clocks didn’t show correct time. Every room had a fire-exit-auto-close mechanism so if two groups were in separate rooms they’re isolated. Some toilets had to be flushed in a certain way to get them to work and the cutlery holder for dishwasher was missing. I could feel the springs in the mattress of four poster bed. So it’d be unfair to rate 10/10 as it wasn’t perfect....I will say I’ve never felt so rushed out a property. On day of leaving, someone let themselves in the back gate (to clean hot tub) prior to kick out time, and in doing so our dog took the opportunity to run from the front room and into the busy road. The cleaners arrived to park and stare at you an hour before kick out. And you’re required to also vacate the car park as well as property. As there’s no where readily available near the office, this really means you have to vacate with enough time to make the walk to office and back. You also have to empty every bin across the 3 storey house. There’s other requirements. All this meant we exited the door at 9am, not the 10am time required. So if you’re staying, get enough sleep on your last night so that you can get up bright and early to be ushered out.All in all, the memories were made by us having a great time and the house facilitated that. But I can’t help but feel there’s a better a property to give you that. Maybe another Cumbrian cottage on the terrace?"

"Recently returned from a family of 9 celebration. The house looks much better in real life than the photos and is very big. All the views are stunning and hot tub is awesome! The kitchen is the best room of the house, very large, new appliances and modern. Very nice touch from owners of cake, milk, juice and eggs. The dinning room was in the conservatory so again lovely views and all 9 ate together with enough room. They have 2 lounges, we only used one for playing games. Ample seating and comfy chairs. The bedrooms are big but furniture a little dated and very squeaky in one room. Very large and modern bathroom with free standing bath and walk in shower. The shower did have a mind of its own and kept going hot and cold. Thankfully there is another shower room and toilet down stairs. The do have a smaller kitchen too so enough storage. We really loved the house and would have rated it 5/5 If the bedroom furniture was a little better and shower was ok. The other issue was flies in the house and kitchen. They came off a rose bush in the front porch so be quick at getting in and out of the house. You can walk to beach as about 1.5 mile and pub in village. Wonderful stay and we all really enjoyed it!"

"We had a fantastic time staying here. From the easy check in process, being personally shown to our lodge and flowers, wine and a welcome card the whole first impression is great. The lodge is ample for 4 of us - beautifully furnished and with all facilities provided. I was expecting the place to feel slightly overcrowded and 'holiday camp' but actually, whilst clearly popular, the site was very relaxed, quiet and plenty of space. There was a very good children's play area which I felt very happy letting my 3 go off to by themselves. There is no swimming pool, pub or on site entertainment but the kids were well occupied and made their own fun. Pooley Bridge is a 5 min walk away and there is a fab outdoor pool in Askham, a 10 min drive away. We are returning next year - its the nicest and friendliest family holiday we have had."

"Loved S18310, very cosy and comfortable with great amenities. We were unlucky with the weather, so missed out on the opportunity of sitting out on the balcony to enjoy a ‘sundowner’ whilst overlooking the tarn, nevertheless it is still a lovely spot to sit and chill. Ambleside provides a good base for easy access to surrounding areas, and for those opting to ‘self cater ‘ there is a good variety of shops from which to purchase your food and drink. Would definitely recommend The Talbot pub, gorgeous food and if you’ve eaten too much the walk back up the hill will soon burn off those extra calories! Also had a lovely meal at Sticklebarn, very welcoming and a good place to stop at, after a great day out. Already discussing when to do a return visit."

"6 adults and 3 teenagers shared the house. Perfect size for us all. Hot tub was amazing in the evening for 7 people with led lights and music. Great view in the day with the sea in the distance. Lovely walk to the beach approx 1.5miles with a stop in Silecroft at the miners arms for a cheeky drink. Evening meal was great too - everyone enjoyed it. Everything you could need is in the house. Kitchen is very well equipped, also lots of glasses. Chocolate cake was yum too! Thanks Helen, lovely touch. We would definitely stay again."
