We booked Rowan Cottage for a weekend break to celebrate our Mum's 84th birthday, party of 9 so it ticked all the boxes.
Had a truly fantastic weekend what a beautiful place to stay, cottage itself is perfect for 10 people. Lots of space, all the rooms a good size and all the beds really comfortable everyone had great nights sleep. Perfect amount of bathrooms for a large group, and with my dad being 91 the walk in shower in the down stairs ensuite was ideal. Also with my dad at his tender age he really feels the cold so the log burner was actually put to use on the Friday night to thaw him out! Plenty of crockery and equipment in the kitchen and good size as we had full cooked breakfast each day, on that note I had totally forgot about ordering some of the breakfast packs offered by the estate so I actually popped into that butchers on the way past Staveley. Can highly recommend ordering their food it is a top class butcher, the cumberland sausage was amazing as was everything else, was gutted they don't open on a Monday as had planned on picking up some steaks on the way home. Cottage is in a beautiful estate the grounds are lovely, the hot tub wonderful and the ducks too cute! Perfect base for exploring and always spoilt for choice for pubs and restaurants in Bowness you can't go wrong. Most importantly my mum had a truly wonderful weekend and loved staying here. Will definitely be returning for another stay :)

We absolutely loved our stay here!
Firstly, the house is in the most amazing location - being extremely walkable to the lake, shops, cafes and restaurants! There are also many beautiful walks in the surrounding areas of the house - which Simon kindly let us know about on arrival! The house boasts the most stunning views of the lake and surrounding hills, which we enjoyed for many evenings whilst sat in the hot tub (the view is even better from up there!!). The house is so lovely - just as described and Iâd say even better than the photos! Has everything that you would ever need, super clean and really comfortable beds!! Simon was a lovely host - really accommodating! A few of our group were arriving early and he was kind enough to offer an earlier check in which was really helpful! Overall - this was a 10/10 and we would love to go back, as well as fully recommend to anyone thinking of visiting!!

Wow wow wow Brantlea is the most beautiful stunning home - it is immaculate and every detail has been thought through with care.
The open plan living area is so good to allow everyone to feel they are together but not on top of one another. The kitchen is huge and has everything you would need. Oven/Grill immaculate and fridge freezer huge - great for stocking up. Lounge has fab corner settee and 2 individual recliners chairs Bedrooms are all amazing- 2 on the ground floor and 2 on the upper living level - bathrooms huge, warm underfloor heating and towels lovely. Utility room handy and well equipped. The views from the hot tub are fabulous towards the lake and the summer house next to the hot tub a great bonus. Garden although steep very well kept and dog safe. Simon has been a wonderful host, offered lots of advice of restaurants etc and responds so quickly. The only downside to Brantlea is having to leave it - we will definitely return - itâs worth every penny. Thank you Simon

Spacious and tastefully decorated inside. Check in, House Rules, and check out instructions were clear and helpful, and presented neatly in a tidy folder, alongside detailed additional information on surrounding areas and activities. We also appreciated the generous welcome hamper. Simon was a fantastic host and made sure we had everything we needed. He was always friendly and very responsive to messages and calls. We had an amazing family stay at Brantlea.
Anything we couldâve possibly needed had been thought of and was in the house. The safety gates for our baby was a life saver who had just started to crawl. The welcome box was amazing and a nice surprise, full of local produce and the dog treats made our four legged friends very happy. The house was clean, comfortable and warm. Amazing views from the kitchen and hot tub. It was a short walk to Bowness which had plenty of amenities, nice shops and restaurants with the Cornish pasty shop being a much loved family favourite. We all agreed we would definitely stay again.
