      Fabulous, just fabulous!

! Absolutely loved our 4 night stay here, perfect location to get away, unwind and be amongst nature. The cottage is very spacious, with good sized bedrooms equipped with comfortable beds and lovely cosy bedding. The kitchen is superbly well stocked with everything you will need and all of really good quality which makes such a difference. The living area is very roomy with comfortable sofa’s and chairs with such a wonderful view across towards Presteigne, easy to see why this is upstairs rather than downstairs. The utility room is really useful, especially if you have a four legged friend that needs to dry off after a long walk, kindly equipped with a padded cushion and a jar of doggy treats

I stayed here for three nights with my Mum and greyhound for our annual pre-christmas trip and we loved it!

The cottage is beautiful, and has everything you need for that home from home feeling. I especially loved the under floor heating in the kitchen, and so did the dog! The location is great for exploring the area, had a fabulous trip up the the Elan Valley once the storm cleared. The one thing I feel compelled to mention is the garden. I wasn't fully aware that the garden was raised up some steps, I think the description says slope. It was only an issue for me as my greyhound struggles with steep steps and he couldn't get up to the garden. Just maybe something for dog owners to be made more aware of, but only minor and not worth deducting any stars for!

Stayed in half term with husband and daughter.

As a teacher it was fun to stay in Teacher's cottage! Enjoyed the history of the area and the cottages themselves. Well appointed and comfy cottage, daughter lived the rocking chair! Parking very tight for a big car but this was explained in the property details. We just unloaded and then parked in the bus stop layby- there was always space there. Friendly neighbours had no problems with us bringing the car up to reload at the end of the week. Enjoyed National Trust properties in the area and visiting Hay-on-Wye. Lovely food from The Banc in Knighton and The Radnorshire Arms in Presteigne. Would recommend both. A lovely stay, thank you.

      Oak apple cottage was fantastic.

We had a lovely family break and wanted for nothing. The cottage, beds, showers, kitchen, space to relax inside and outside as well as the location were all perfect. The welcome bundle was incredibly indulgent and gratefully received. We had some great walks in the forest, down to the village and in the local area. I can’t see how you could have a bad stay here, if it wasn’t already booked up we’d be staying here as much as possible!

      Beautifully maintained property and surroundings.

Saffron and Michael have provided a fantastic cottage experience. We were welcomed with a lovely welcome pack of treats and excellent guide book that gave us lots of ideas for activities for our family. Warm messages of concern we received because of some high winds were really gratefully received. We will be back to enjoy this wonderful corner of the world. Thank you Oak Apple.
