Guests need to be more aware that the cottage and area is very rural. The nearest shop is a 1/2 hour drive away just for basics like milk and bread. The owner did gift us some lovely eggs and juice which we were grateful for .However I think they should offer a welcome pack with some basics included. The cottage is old and very picturesque and is prefect for a quiet stay, however it does need a good clean. I can understand the odd cobweb ,but dead flies and spiders hanging all over is not good.

A very quaint cosy cottage! It was like staying at Granny’s cottage! As if you are staying at someone’s own cottage! Full of ornaments and pictures! It was so welcoming and warm and had everything you needed! It is old and very isolated! The main noise is from the sheep in the fields during the day and the owl hooting at night while watching the clear sky seeing shooting stars and stars you would never normally see! It is very remote so we had a Tesco delivery timed within the hour of us arriving! The nearest supermarket is 30 mins drive away! We didn’t eat out locally as the pubs all needed booking in advance so we had lunch out and cooked back on the cottage in the evening! The small cottage kitchen has everything you need! The oven has an inbuilt grill and is spotless clean! There is a microwave and toaster and even a filter coffee machine! There is plenty of pots and pans and cooking equipment and plenty of plates and cups and glass wear! There is a fridge with a freezer drawer just enough to put chips and frozen peas and ice cubes! They supplied oven gloves and plenty of tea towels! There is a small cozy dining room that seats 4 or we used the glass dining table in the sunroom for meals as it’s very bright and airy! There is also an electric fire place for chilly evenings! They also had cards and games and jigsaws to keep you entertained! The living room was very comfy’. A large sofa and 2 arm chairs! Lots of lamps and a log burner in the fireplace! Very cozy of an evening! The TV has free view! The WiFi was good enough! The bedrooms are very spacious! The main bedroom had a very comfy double bed with large wardrobe and dressing table! There is also a hairdryer! The second bedroom was equally large with twin beds again with large wardrobe and dressing table! Lots of extension leads! The third bedroom is a nice size with a single bed and little dressing table with a spare kettle and window overlooking the hills and garden where you can gaze for hours watching the sheep in the fields and mountain behind the cottage! The bathroom was large enough! They supplied plenty of fluffy towels and a bonus heated towel rail! There’s a shower over the bath that was powerful enough to have a decent shower! The window overlooked the hills so totally private! This cottage is not at all modern! Yes there’s lots of spiderwebs! But it is clean! It is very quaint! The floors are not level! There are nooks and crannies all over the cottage! But it is homely and warm and cozy! The garden is a nice size! We have a large dog and it was totally safe and large enough for her! The only drawback is the only door is the front door so we had to keep that open all the time so she could come and go from the garden! But it is a secure garden and at night we sat out watching the dark sky seeing stars and galaxies that we’ve never seen before! We absolutely loved the isolation and peaceful location! The only drawback for us was we ended up driving everyday! There was no pub or little shop in walking distance! There are no footpaths from the cottage! A car is essential! We visited the following attractions in the week -The water-break-it’s-neck waterfall which is a 5 min drive! The Radnor Forest- worth the views! Parked in town and walked up the steep paths through to the top of the mountain just behind the cottage!40 min drive to Hay-on-Wye a very pretty village!40 min drive to Elan Valley90 min drive to Brecon Beacons National Park! We went 3 times -Four waterfall walkThe Brecon reservoir Pen y Fan mountain Olwyn the cottage owner was very lovely and friendly! There were Welsh cakes and elderflower drink and eggs as a welcome gift and she is only next for any advice or assistance not that we needed her!Loved the cottage and highly recommended if you are a couple or a family with teenagers! Not sure it’s suited to toddlers as lots of ornaments at their height! Plus very uneven floors! Even though the weather wasn’t great we had a lovely time!

Comfy cottage, reasonable size garden. Good walks within a few minutes driving distance and plenty of places to visit.
