What our customers say about their holidays

    • Sally - Verified booking

The location of The Dunes is perfect and have wanted to stay since it’s been built.

The property was very clean. The beds were soft so not ideal when you’re used to a firm mattress but they were good quality nevertheless. 2 king size beds, no zip/link beds. There is nothing left in the property in terms of kitchen bits (salt/pepper/oils/ etc, no dishwasher tablets, cloths, cleaning products, bleach etc. You need to bring it ALL. There were not even oven gloves I had to use a tea towel. The property has an air filtration system, in each room on the ceiling is some kind of fan which constantly makes a sound. It cannot be turned off so bring earplugs for sleeping if sound sensitive. You cannot adjust the heating, upon speaking to the owner it takes days to adjust it so if you’re too hot or cold there’s not much to do about it! The door to the outside in the living room (the crazy one you push out and slide), was extremely stiff due to the salt and was told it was £6000 by the owner and didn’t dare open it for fear of breaking it! The other door opens in the usual way so we used this one instead but there’s no catch so can’t leave it open if windy. There were lots of crockery & glassware which was great although no large glasses (pints or thereabouts). I had to tell the owner there were no roasting dishes or Pyrex jugs in the property so he sent some via Amazon. I had to make do when cooking until they arrived and use the mugs for gravy etc. We had a lovely week here, not sure if we would stay again because there were no zip & link beds, but that’s the main reason.

Two couples staying in Feb 2023 and were lucky with the weather.

The apartment looks exactly like the photos only with more space. The views are amazing, the location is steps away from bars, restaurants, shops and of course the beach. We were mesmerised every morning watching the waves crashing on the beach from the bedrooms or the comfy Lshaped sofa. We loved the high/low tide clock. The mini welcome packs in the kitchen and bathroom (dishwasher tablets, w-up liquid, shampoo, body wash, biscuits, tea, coffee) were a nice touch. The water pressure in the shower was good and the bath towels huge and great quality. The kitchen had every utensil you needed but of course you'll need your own condiments and extra kitchen roll etc. The building itself is very well maintained (corridors we're being painted whilst we were there) and secure with key code entry and there is also a key safe so you don't have to take the key out with you to the beach. There is also a lift but as the apartment is on ground level we found it easier to use the slope from the car park, especially whist unloading/loading the car. Despite being February most of the town was open for business. We didn't venture far by car but we did walk the coastal path to St Agnes to take in more of the amazing sea views. There is also a bus to bring you back! Thank you for an amazing stay we can't recommend Chapel Rock View enough.

This is our second time staying at Chapel Rock, the Dunes, Perranporth and I have to say the apartment is absolutely fantastic.

The location is perfect, situated overlooking the wonderful Perran Sands Beach, the beach is easily accessible via a private gate in the garden (you can also walk via the other side of the apartment complex if there is a high tide via a small bridge). The apartment is finished to a very very high standard and extremely comfortable with all creature comforts you could ask for. Each bedroom has a sea view and the views from the living room are wonderful. Being a ground floor flat you have a lovely decking area to enjoy the view. We love Perranporth, in our opionion the Dunes apartment complex is by far the best accommodation in Perranporth. The apartment is only a very short walk from the town with the Summerhouse restaurant and Alacatraz coffee shop being part of the Dunes complex. The Watering Hole bar (on the beach) is very very close to the apartment and is a fun place to have a drink whatever the weather. By far the best place to eat in Perranporth is The Willow Bistro which is extremely welcoming, a varied menu and as all the ingredients are sourced locally the meals are delicious (would recommend the crab salad, the Sunday lunch and the local beer and gin). Staying at Chapel Rock really is a 5 star experience and we cannot recommend it highly enough. Thanks to Sykes and James the owner.

Absolutely splendid and we would recommend Perran Pearl A to everyone!

From the booking, communication, welcome on arrival, cleanliness, facilities, parking, comfort .... everything was first class. The apartment is very new and modern - has everything you need (and not full of ornaments, vases, trinkets .... that you don't need). Very clever use of space with plenty of room to store your clothes, luggage etc. It is like a tardis and there is even a fabulous shower and a seperate full length bath. Both the sitting area and bedroom (with the most comfortable bed) had large wall mounted TVs. The kitchen is well equipped and nothing you need to bring along with you. Accessed via the bedroom is a balcony with chairs and a table and a view over the lovely countryside. By walking a few steps down the drive you then have the most glorious view of the bay. The apartment is situated on quite a steep hill - it takes approx 10 mins to reach the town. Took longer going back up the hill (depends how fit you are - we are not!). The large welcome hamper was amazing - such a nice touch & so appreciated. We devoured the cream tea on the balcony watching the sun set. We have been going to Perranporth for a number of years and this has to be the best accommodation we have ever stayed in - and we will certainly be back.

This apartment is outstanding in its facilities it’s cleanliness but most of all it’s location.

You will never tire of the view every time you open any of the curtains in either bedroom or lounge . The access to the beach from the main car park means you can be walking in the beach with 2 minutes of locking the front door of the apartment. Attention ti detail is fabulous here at the dunes and this is the first holiday home I have ever stayed in that even had cake forks ! Which is perfect to enjoy the delicious cakes from the cake shop on the main road at the bottom of access road. You don’t need to go far to find good food and even in winter season we found everything we needed within walking distance of the apartment including a quite large coop store. We would highly recommend this place to anyone who wants a beach holiday a relaxing break or even wants to do some surfing . James the owner provides some very helpful videos to watch before you arrive so you know where to find things like the key safe and the bins store. He also kept in contact whilst we were there making sure everything g was ok for us . A truly beautiful apartment in a tremendous spot with the most amazing views . Thank you we hope to return again .
