What our customers say about their holidays

    • Confirmed Guest - Verified booking

We are frequent visitors to Warkworth and the North East, and all of our family were within walking distance of one another. Our grandchildren loves calling at their cousin’s holiday homes.Victoria cottage provided us all with comfort and living space for grandparents, parents and children. It is our best holiday home yet in terms of provision, decoration and attention to detail. I loved the art work. Our first holiday home in the North East was a touring caravan placed in a field in Alnmouth. Happy days! (37 years ago). So we have kept returning and building family memories evert since. Now we even have a private sand dune on the beach. The people of the North East are a particularly welcoming and warm people. This is very much the case at Warkworth Golf Club where visitors are most welcome. Of course we shall be returning after another memorable week.Thank you for allowing us to stay in Victoria Cottage.

Loved this accommodation, catered for the 3 families staying there and the location, beach, garden and hot tub were amazing.

The only thing was that we were unable to use the hot tub until about 11pm the night we arrived, we understand that it needs to be cleaned out from previous guest but it would have been nice to know as the kids were looking forward to it and couldn't use it. The house had a funny smell and the smell of other people living there, which made it feel like it wasn't very clean. There were dishes still dirty in the cupboards, and the cleanliness wasn't up to the standard you would expect for the cost of the house. Skirting boards in the bathroom had splatters of toothpaste which could be easily wiped and bathroom floors with dirty bits and dust. The king-size bedroom on the First floor mattress very soft and uncomfortable. I went to use one of the blankets stored with the picnic blankets, etc, and it was covered in dog hair. The house is stunning. Thank you for our stay.

Had a lovely stay over the Easter weekend and a few days more .

There were 10 of us and there was ample space for us all ......the house was very well equipped and had everything we needed .we had lovely weather and were able to sit out at the back .which had wicker furniture and a lovely big sun umbrella for those wishing to be in the shade .there was parking for two cars but more parking across the road if needed .The property was on the high street so handy for the shops and pubs /fish and chip shops and A great Indian take away .because the weather was so good we took advantage of the out door swimming pool in the village which was great for the grandchildren who had a great time .there was a flume and a small play area .it was in an ideal spot to see the local places of interest and not far from Hexham and Carlisle .would highly recommend

Excellent location right on the beach.

Very well equipped with everything a large group could need. The hot tub and heated outside shower were great when returning from the beach and sea and plenty of outdoor seating to get the full benefit of the fabulous sea views. The kitchen diner is great for family meals, and again very well equipped with plenty of cooking and eating options and a large fridge freezer with drinks and ice machine. Lots of sleeping and bathroom options and a gorgeous spa bath. We were a group of 10 adults and two toddlers and we wanted for nothing here. Even a shop right next door selling essentials as well as fresh bread and local product's. Fabulous stay thank you.

Absolutely beautiful house in a great location.

The sitting room is comfortable and big for the large group with lovely furnishing. The kitchen is great with the huge table where you can all sit together. It would have been nice to have been able to use the log burner for more than one night without having to provide your own logs. Never have I had a house where you were expected to do this, especially in Feb. (Maybe you could factor this in with the price ) Also having to take glass to the recycling bin which was a car journey from the house was a bit of a task. These are not complaints, just something you may wish to consider. We would stay again and we had a great time.
