What our customers say about their holidays

    • Miss Hipkiss - Verified booking

We parked to unload on short stay carpark by the church and then parked the car for a week at Willow carpark £35 for the week. It was literally a 5 minute walk to the cottage from the church short stay ( more if the Fountain Inn is open ….easy to side track) The cottage is a few doors up from the pub on the left. Access via a few steps and through the gate. Enter into a lovely little welcoming room. Small kitchen to the right which has everything you need for self catering. Spotlessly clean and overlooking a courtyard. This room has a dining table and log burner which we used and it warmed the cottage beautifully. Radiators in every room but we were lucky with the weather and only needed them later on in the evening. Up the narrow staircase is the living room. Again warm and welcoming and leading to the bathroom and bedroom. There is a door from the bedroom leading to a roof garden. No sea or harbour views but a lovely view over the rooftops at the village. Seating is up there too. The cottage is basically a lovely place to stay. It is central to the village and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. We would absolutely return if there is availability as we love Mevagissey and this cottage is absolutely perfect.

Wow, what a beautiful cottage and what a wonderful holiday we had! The cottage is located in an excellent location, good for exploring north and south Cornwall! (Tintagel - 50 minutes, Padstow 35 minutes, Mevagissey 15 minutes, Eden Project 25 minutes and many more locations within less than 30 minutes driving distance). The cottage is well equipped, with an excellent air fryer which we cooked most of our meals in. The bed is comfortable and the cottage was spotlessly clean, decorated beautifully - you can tell lots of thought has gone into preparing the cottage into a lovely, cosy holiday destination for guests. We looked forward to coming back here after each day out. There is an excellent, friendly pub within walking distance that also does great food if you fancy a meal out (The Hewas Inn) The Kingswood Bar and Restaurant, a 10 minute drive away is also lovely if you prefer a little more fine dining. Despite the weather not being on our side we still had a fabulous holiday, and cannot wait to stay again. Lesley and Terry, the property owners are incredibly welcoming and lovely people, but also understood and respected our privacy in the cottage. We couldn’t recommend Pendeen Hayloft enough.

We spent the first week of November at the cottage and were fortunate to have a mild and dry week. I really wanted to light the log burner but the cottage wasn’t cold enough, even without the heating on!! The cottage is very clean and cosy and the amenities are excellent. The stairs to the living room are very steep - I twisted my ankle the day before we came away and found them quite challenging but the chrome bannisters were a godsend. The cottage is in a fantastic location close to everything Mevagissey has to offer. There are plenty of places to eat out at a reasonable cost and lots of places to explore slightly further afield. The Lost Gardens of Heligan are worth a visit and cost half the price of the Eden Project. All in all, we had a very enjoyable stay.

This is our second visit to this most beautiful house and the wonderful garden. We had a fantastic time here. The house is so welcoming, so clean and had everything we needed. We all felt relaxed and happy. The sun was shining and so we all loved sitting in the garden looking over to the fields. We enjoyed some good walks and saw so many bluebells and primroses. Since our last visit we discovered we had ancestors who actually lived in the Terrace near the church so we found that interesting. This is such a lovely house so thank you for making it so comfortable for a perfect holiday. Next time we hope to stay for two weeks but wish we could stay all summer!

Pendeen Hayloft was perfect for the two of us and our small dog, it is very comfortable and the garden is fully enclosed. It is very tasteful and homely with some lovely personal touches and it was absolutely spotlessly clean. The welcome pack of Cornish cream tea and Prosecco was perfect following a long journey. The Hayloft is well placed for exploring Cornwall. We were eating out most of the time but if you are planning to cook most evenings you should note the oven and hob are very small, it's a cottage for people wanting to take a break from cooking! We would recommend the Hayloft for anyone wanting to get away from the crowds.
