What our customers say about their holidays

    • Sally - Verified booking

We had a lovely stay in the quirky cottage, was lovely to be right by the canal.

Was a comfy cottage with great facilities, and great location. As other reviewers have said, there are too many ornaments and trinkets meaning it's a worry (with a 6 year old) about potential breakages. Unfortunately I did break an ornament which was on a shelf right by the window, which I accidentally knocked when trying to reach the curtains. There's also a lack of space on surfaces to put our own things due to the trinkets, lovely as they are! The cottage would also benefit from some kind of manual covering basic things like when to put the recycling out. When we were there the bins were full to the brim likely because they weren't put out on collection day by previous guests, as they didn't know when to do this. Also other general information on the cottage and amenities would be helpful, eg we were keen to lock our bikes in one of the outhouses but no key. Also wasnt sure about use of the kayak. Overall though, a lovely stay and would recommend! These are just points to improve the experience for future guests.

It was comfortable for the whole family, plenty of space to be together or have quiet times.

Outside flat and safe for young children and dogs. Kitchen fully equipped with everything you need to cook for a large family. Outside a BBQ clean and like new condition. Outside sheltered space too with converted shed with seating should the weather change . A great inside outside space. Behind the garden is the park and playground.. crazy golf and cafe.. short flat walk of 5 mins to Aldi and Home Bargains s to your right. To your left a river, picturesque walk of 4 mins into the historic town of Llangollen. Plenary of independent shops, cafes and pubs. You can walk up to the canal and take the horse drawn barge. This maybe a challenge walk I’d you have difficulties.. 15-20 mins drive to the Aqua Duct. The city of Wrexham about 30 mins, we managed to get a ticket for the Saturday home game.. Betws-Y-Coed is worth a visit. It’s at the beginning of the Snowdonia national Park with lots of viewing points along the way. A week was not enough and can’t wait to come back..

Tyn Llwyn is the perfect family break!

It has everything you need and more. Having two children, who love to be outdoors, I found the washer dryer really useful. They loved the freedom the farm has to offer and there are plenty of things to do within the locality. We visited Zip World, went in the canal boats, caught fish in the river and had a brilliant day out at Chester Zoo. Each morning we watched the cattle come down for breakfast and saw Huw and his amazing sheepdogs gather the sheep. The views in any weather are the best I’ve ever seen! It was lovely to be greeted by the owner on arrival, the cottage is spacious, clean and tidy. Lots of lovely finishing touches that you don’t normally get in rented accommodation. It was the perfect break and I couldn’t have asked for more…so relaxing. Bethan and her family make you feel right at home. They are very warm, friendly, knowledgable people. We will be returning very soon!!! Thank you for everything. 10/10

This holiday home was perfect for us all, plenty of space, dogs welcomed, off road parking, comfy beds, lovely clean fresh bedding and towels, and lots of seating areas, wonderful views.

Plenty of TV's, and DVD players too!! The kitchen was well equipped and utility room/drying room too. Location was ideal, close to all amenities. Personal welcome from the owners and a gift of wine too! It really did have everything we wanted. There were four generations too and the house suited everyone. We celebrated my daughter's 50th Birthday and it truly was a wonderful week. Dining room seated 10 easily. Blessed with good weather, most of the group were very active so lots of walks are close to hand. Ate and drank in local places, and rode the steam train. The afternoon tea at the Carriage on the station is highly recommended. Shops and pubs were all just minutes from the property. Chinese take away tasty and great value. We also visited the Cornmill, dog friendly, several times. Also there were ;lots of places dog friendly so we were able to enjoy eating out without any worries.

The house is located on the corner of the A5 and one of the main roads into Llangollen centre; however, there wasn't a problem with traffic noise.

There is a nice riverside walk into the centre from the park alongside the house. The accommodation was ideal for our party of 7 adults. The lounge was ideal for our party, as was the dining room. The sun lounge provided an alternative sitting area. The paved garden at the back had plenty of space for sitting out too, with tables & chairs. The kitchen is large & well equipped including fridge/freezer with ice maker. There is parking for 3 cars directly outside (off-road).There were a few niggles with missing items etc but the owners responded promptly and were pleased to have had the feedback, which was constructive. We were delighted to have a welcome gift of 2 bottles of wine and received another for reporting the niggles! We have stayed elsewhere in Llangollen before some years ago (with Sykes) so are unlikely to return, but if we did, we would be very happy to stay here again.
