Located on the Loughor estuary, Llanelli has everything you’d need for a short stay. Visit the indoor market (a must for local produce and ingredients) and the St Elli shopping centre to peruse bargains before exploring the historic Llanelly House. The town centre is linked with a maze of canopied streets and is flat and accessible for all – no matter age or ability. The Ffwrnes theatre has a packed calendar of events year-round and the Odeon multiplex makes for a great way to pass a few hours on a rainy day. Those looking to get active can walk, run or cycle the Millennium Coastal Path which runs from Llanelli to Pembrey Forest.

What our customers say about their holidays

This was a great find and we were very pleased with our stay.

Tip: once you have booked, have a look around the postcode area on Street View so you know exactly where the property is before you arrive - we had no issues at all. The driveway is up a little kerb and is on a slope but is fine. It is in a very quiet area. Entering the property was easy. The photos to my mind make it look a little smaller than it actually is, so expect a bit more space! It is very well furnished and there is a lot of storage space so you can unpack all your stuff and it immediately feels like home. The kitchen is well equipped (and the smoke alarm definitely works! - open a window if you are pan-frying a steak...), the lounge area is lovely and the TV has all the usual Freeview channels, the shower was hot with a decent water pressure, and the bed was not too hard or soft. Wifi was weaker than the mega-fast service I have at home and was better (closer to router presumably) on the TV side of the property than the kitchen side; mobile phone data reception was better upstairs (or outside). Our medium-sized and occasionally excitable dog settled in straight away. As did we. Location: absolutely ideal for trips to the beaches (30 mins south-west) and country walks in the Brecon Beacons (30+ mins north-east). Good value: yes! Niggles: of course, it's a house, but all too minor to mention. Cleanliness: immaculate. Communication with the owner (who popped round shortly after we arrived to check all was well): great. Not to do with the house but a shout-out for dog-friendly places nearby: Pembrey beach (for a very long walk off-lead, check tide times); Bailey's Dog Cafe in Carmarthen (for understanding what a dog-friendly cafe really means, voted #2 in the UK).

Hi All, My partner and I (and Dog, Nellie) had a 4 night stay here from 14th to 18th March 2018.

One of the main factors for us was the fact it used to be a Church! Was hoping it might be a bit spooky but actually, quite the opposite! Very warm and welcoming cottage with lots of equipment to maintain a self sufficient stay. The decor is brilliant and detail is second to none. The cottage is very clean but still has that old property feel that is great. Spacious and cozy at the same time. The feature staircase is superb as is the main bedroom bathroom flooring. You will see if you book. The ONLY two things we can comment on are: 1. The bedroom skylights do not have any type of blind - If you are a light sleeper, bring some eye masks. 2. The shower pressure is not great. The bin collection is times can be found here - http://www.carmarthenshire.gov.wales/media/1213110/waste-collection-calendar2017-ws.pdf As far as I can see, just put the bags outside before 6am on the particular days. The Bucket & Spade Pub down the road (Out door, turn left, at the end on the right) does a GREAT breakfast from 10:00hrs for £4.95 and is huge! Definitely worth a visit. We would stay here again. For us, the main winner here is the actual property. Its a CHURCH! How often can you stayed in a Church. I did do some research into the Church and couldn't find much but if anyone can find it, please print it off and leave it in the guest book :) Yours, Naomi, Daran and Nellie.

      ABsolutely gorgeous property.

An intimate, cosy stay that has everything available to you and makes for a real 'home away from home', and a peaceful retreat away from the noise of life. I didn't want to leave. The property is accessed via the owners driveway which is no problem atol to me, and as read in anothers review, at night the pathway to the back door of ffaur draig is unlit but all it takes to solve this is your mobile phone light. The property has far too much character and comfort to offer to miss out on. I highly recommend this place. A lovely private retreat at the far end of an estate so there is nobody looking into the property. It boasts of beautiful furniture inside that is also really comfy and It is a lovely, quiet area too. I loved everything about this place and felt very safe and well looked after. If i needed anything atol the owners were happy to help and Elaine checked in on me the first night to make sure I was okay. A lovely touch. Thankyou for a beautiful stay I shall look forward to coming again.

A pet friendly place should have somewhere to dispose of a dog poo.

Also shame there is no footpaths and you have to drive to walk the dog. Drive is near enough impossible to use - needs lowered curb. Also no information that the place is not accessible if you have any difficulties with walking - steep drive, steps and narrow alley. No privacy in the garden - kitchen overlooks neighbours hot tub. Overall clean but shower grubby and door needs attention - found missing screw on the floor by the toilet. Kitchen relatively clean but inside cupboards and drawers dirty. Also had to wash all cutlery and crockery before use. Far too many reed diffusers and airfreshners - counted 6! Had to put them away as the smell was far too strong. Also no WiFi or phone signal - really affected our stay and the owner wasn't bothered about us contacting and asking to resolve this. No bins to dispkse of your rubbish - only small ones inside of 1 cupboard - not enough if you staying longer then few days.

The location of the cottage was great, just a short walk to the beach.

Unfortunately, the cleanliness of the cottage was disappointing upon arrival. The dishes and pots were oily and chipped, and the kitchen was not well-equipped and in dire need of an update. The vacuum cleaner had a bad odor and lacked proper suction, while the drawers and fridge were dirty. The cushions and blankets were old, worn, and appeared unclean. The small hair dryer was faulty, constantly overheating and failing to work. When I raised this issue with the owner, she insisted that it was functioning and asked me to manage with it. Most surfaces were smeared, and while the owner did send someone to clean, the results were underwhelming, and the bathroom still had mold. The cottage had potential to be a lovely space, but it needs better upkeep, cleaning, and updated amenities to truly be enjoyable for guests.
