What our customers say about their holidays

    • Karen - Verified booking

We stayed at the lodge from the 2nd to the 9th October 2021 On arrival we was greeted by Sonia and David the owners they were both extremely welcoming they showed us round and told us how things worked.

Sonia had even sent us a txt earlier in the day to ask if we would like the hot tub fire lighting so it would be ready for when we arrived which was extremely kind of them. The lodge is set in beautiful surroundings and all you can see in every direction is stunning greenery. The lodge was clean and extremely well stocked with everything you need for your stay e.g tea towels, washing up liquid, toilet rolls etc. There is no wi fi and you also have to light a fire using wood to heat the hot tub but we knew this and didn’t mind as it was part of the adventure of our holiday It does take around 3 hours for the hot tub to heat up depending on the temperature of the water but we just got a drink and enjoyed the scenery while we was waiting for it to heat up. There are some beautiful walks around this area and lots of things to see and do within a short drive. If your looking for a relaxing stress free, forget about your troubles holiday book the lodge you will be very well looked after by Sonia and David and be surrounded by nature. Thank you so much Sonia and David for letting us stay in your caravan with such beautiful surroundings looking after us and making us feel so welcome Hopefully we will get the opportunity to visit you both again in the future. Kind regards Colin & Karen.

The Lodge is a great holiday property run by very friendly and helpful hosts Sonia and David and spaniels.

Peaceful, secluded countryside location, great for stargazing on clear nights. Lots of attractions a short drive away. Fantastic walks for our dog in, and away from, the property. Bedroom 1 with king size bed, walk in wardrobe, TV with free sat and ensuite toilet and basin. Bedroom 2 has twin beds, ideal for younger children. Bathroom with large walk-in shower, WC and basin. Open plan kitchen/diner/sitting room large enough for a family of four. Large fridge freezer, gas hob, separate grill and oven. Storage space is plentiful throughout. The very clean property is well stocked with many items not usually provided in holiday lets, such as good quality hand wash at every basin, washing up liquid, dishwashing sponge and cloth, oven gloves, tea towels, kitchen roll, plenty of loo roll, books, board games, DVDs, sewing kit, first aid kit, vacuum, sweeping brush and desk fan. Welcome basket of hot drinks and tasty biscuits and charming little vase of flowers on arrival. Dog treats and loan of mat, bowl, doggy blanket for sofa and towel were much appreciated. Lovely to relax in the wood burner-heated hot tub filled with spring water, under cover, with solar powered lights. We very much enjoyed our stay. Thank you David and Sonia!

The lodge was a perfect getaway for me and my family.

The location was perfect and so quiet which is exactly what we were looking for, the lodge was tidy and well equipped with everything you would need for the stay. The kids really enjoyed the welcome basket fully of goodies. The hot tub for us didn’t get hot enough but that’s just personal preference the kids still went in multiple times and loved it. Inside the lodge there was also a handy guide of local walks we could on which I thought was good (if it hadn’t rained the whole time!). Only suggestion we had was when meeting Sonia and David when we arrived we were told how to work everything such as hot tub and which bins for recycling but after they had gone we had already forgot! I feel this could be helpful if it was written down and left in the lodge but didn’t affect the stay in any way. I would definitely recommend staying here if you want a relaxing break away.

This was our first time visiting south wales, and we couldn't have picked a better place to stay.

The cleanliness was outstanding! The hospitality was outstanding! The surrounding area was outstanding! Sonia and Dave are the loveliest couple where nothing is too much trouble. They are developing and expanding their lodges, so works are in progress. This didn't hinder our stay, as no active work was done during our stay. What they have planned for the eco-lodges looks brilliant. We can't wait to book again. We took our two children and the dog with us. It was the most peaceful holiday we have ever been on, and we arrived during a storm! Once it had passed, there was just silence, trees, long walks, and a river. This is just on their land. We loved it. The log fire hot tub is fantastic, and being in it while the stars are out is an experience everyone who visits should have! Zoe, Mick, the Girls & Skip

The lodge is set in a tranquil and peaceful location, which was exactly what we wanted.

The views all around were spectacular and all we could hear was the sound of the nearby spring and an occasional birdsong. The lodge is well equipped, and the wood-fired hot tub is just a perfect addition to its facilities. During our stay we looked forward to going back to the lodge and having a relaxing time in the hot tub after a day's full of activities, exploring the area. The hosts were very friendly, helpful and attentive. They made sure everything was OK and nothing was a bother for them Just the nicest people. Would definitely go back and would recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing laid back stay. It is also a perfect base to explore South Wales - plenty of places to see and things to do, within 60-90 mins max either direction. You are spoilt for choice.
