What our customers say about their holidays

    • Andy - Verified booking

We have just come back from our break at Brook Haven, having had a fantastic holiday.

Such a lovely cottage to stay at. Really nice site too. In terms of location, it is only a short drive to Looe beach (around 10miles) and only a 2 minute drive to Aldi/Morrisons/Costa for any essentials. The town centre is only 5mins away too. The owner was so friendly when we arrived and made sure we had everything we needed - also making sure that we knew to contact her if there were any problems at all. The welcome pack of shortbread and milk was a really nice touch too! The property was spotless. The beds were incredibly comfy too and shower/bathroom facilities were great. The reclining couches were great to sit in at the end of the day and watch TV. It felt like the owners had planned for everything you'd need with this cottage, such as hoover; iron; washing machine; torches (for night-time walking); clothes dryer/pegs etc. The tv had Freeview and a DVD player built-in and there were a selection of DVDs for both adults/kids, along with books/board games - another nice touch. We connected to the WiFi as well during our stay. I'm always a bit wary when booking a holiday online, in case it doesn't live up to expectation, however I would genuinely recommend this property to anybody who is thinking of booking a holiday to Cornwall. We all loved our stay at Brook Haven and wish we could have stayed longer. We will definitely be back again soon. Andy, Helen and Jamie.

Enjoyed our stay here, the site was so peaceful & quiet.

The bungalow itself was nicely decorated although we didn’t spend much time in it during the day, we only stayed in it in the evenings. Upon arrival it looked spotless, although there were white cat hairs on the sofa & I'm allergic so had to get some antihistamines, I explained this to the owner when we left & said he would have a word with the cleaner. There was also a used bin liner in the food caddy & as we didn’t cook anything in there until the day before we left we didn’t notice it. Despite this we’ve had a lovely 2 weeks & would definitely book again in the future. It’s idyllic & I couldn’t have had a better holiday if I tried, my dog also enjoyed his holiday. It said there was a dishwasher but I never saw one & as we ate out during the day there were only breakfast pots & cups to wash anyway so did them by hand. If you like a quiet, peaceful holiday I would definitely recommend staying here & the weather made it even more enjoyable. I’d say it’s not a site if you have children as there’s nothing to keep them occupied, it’s more suited to over 50’s when the kids have left home & you want peace & quiet, this site gives you that without a doubt. We’re so looking forward to coming back in the future

It is a delightful, cosy comfortable cottage full of quirky charm . It is a great base from which to explore the local area and we enjoyed our stay. However it is worth pointing out that this property is the converted stable and office ADJACENT to the chapel and NOT THE ENTIRE CHAPEL which the overview on the website suggests and this statement , coupled with the wide angled lens shots may lead visitors to think that it is more spacious than it is. The outdoor area is a lovely suntrap but the furniture has changed since the photo was taken and this, coupled with the wide angled shot again suggests more outdoor space than there actually is . Although it states 2 dogs are welcome, we have a small dog but he couldn’t really run in the confined space - (there is however a fantastic recreation ground across the road which alleviates this problem.)

A beautiful cottage tucked away down a typical Cornish country lane. The property is next to the owners own property, John and Lou and we could not have wished for better hosts. We were shown around the property on arrival and where everything was, a few little treats as well, which were very much appreciated. We were also allowed to walk around the 17 acres of land whenever we wanted and enjoy the peace and quiet that the location provided. The accommodation was clean, tidy, comfortable and there was everything we needed for a week away, a home from home. The area has so much to offer and wished we could have stayed longer. Would we go back? In a heartbeat and will definitely be rebooking in the near future. Thank you John and Lou for a special and memorable holiday in your beautiful cottage.

    • Mrs Whittall - Verified booking

This is lovely accommodation set in a very peaceful and beautiful setting. The place is very homely and comfortable and good value for money. It’s situated in a rural location yet not too far to travel to the coast and other Cornwall attractions. The hosts provided lots of little personal touches from tea, coffee, biscuits and toiletries. They even provided treats for our doggies. This place is ideal if you prefer to eat out as the fridge, cooking facilities and food preparation spaces are very limited. However there are so many pubs and restaurants nearby that this is not an issue. The ducks at the accommodation kept us entertained when we were there and the location meant that the stars at night were amazing.
