We had a lovely stay at Cosy Bee and are very grateful to the owner(s) for letting us take our three small dogs to stay- our blind poodle spent most of the week in the cottage but was no trouble and ( as usual!
) slept most of the day. Cosy Bee is in a great location- having lived in Lancaster and Morecambe I knew what to expect and was familiar with Heysham Village- the steepness of the drive came as no surprise! It was very peaceful at night and the next door neighbours, who we met very briefly, were friendly. The facilities were good and provided everything we needed, I especially liked the pretty enclosed garden. The beds were comfy and overall the cottage was clean, albeit for some slight discolouration to the living room carpet which is only to be expected in a dog-accommodating dwelling and it didnât matter to us. The only reason why I am grading 4 stars is because I personally found the living room sofa very uncomfortable ( I have back and neck issues). After a long day of walking I could have done with a firmer sofa to chill on- but I compensated by going to bed to lie down . The handbook was very informative and helpful. We left comments in the Visitor Book about our stay and I wouldnât hesitate to book again if and when I am next up that way. Many thanks once again to the owner from 2 happy hoomans and 3 happy pups.

Hosts allowed us to go in early which was appreciated.
Barn was fantastic, as large family , plenty of large bedrooms and showers and baths. The beds are so so comfortable. Lovely fluffy quilts and bedding. Not slept like that for so long, and with it being so dark and quiet was so relaxing. Showers powerful and lots of hot water , lovely soak in bath. Plenty of games. Games table. Cooking utensils etc. . Barn very remote but in perfect location to travel to so many places like the lakes Blackpool. Etc. All only being at the most around hour away. Williamson park is a must. Phil was so helpful and around somewhere if needed him. Itâ was so nice to cosy up with the wood burner when we returned home after our adventures everyday. We had Halloween party For the children whilst we were there and all had great time. It was funny watching the chickens strutting by tantalising the dogs. The only thing I would say is watch the cooker hood extractor as we all banged head on this during week We will definitely be returning again.

We had a wonderful holiday staying at Bowland Barn with a couple of negative points.
The road up to the house was in terrible state, with huge pot holes but I assume that has nothing to do with the owners. The main point was it was not suitable for disabled and I found it hard to negotiate stairs as there were no handrails for me to hold on to so I tried to stay in the same place and not to walk about due to the fear of falling down the steps. Apart from that the house was so nice and my family were the rest of the party thought the same and are already talking about hiring the property again. Everything was clean, well equipped with everything that we needed and the quality of the fixtures and fittings along with all the kitchen utensils was 1st class. The owners were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble for them. They were very friendly, polite and easy to talk to. For anyone wanted to stay here I would rate it 10/10 as long as you had no walking disabilities. A really lovely property well worth the stay. Thank you

Lovely well equipped property.
Owners met and showed us how to work kitchen equipment etc. The hot tub and games table a lovely addition. Not very child friendly, the enclosed area was not well enclosed the gate did not lock the wall slabs needed fixing so quite dangerous. The other outside area is quite open. Inside the owners had put on the fire and a child burnt their hand on top of it, could have done with a fire guard. The gap in the bottom of the balcony railing is too big for small children, risk of falling through, there were areas that I donât think would comply with building regs. The steps from the small seating area into the kitchen are not wide enough and 3 of our sober party had accidents falling down these. The first step on the staircase is too high we had a few trips on that. The property is clean but would benefit from a deep clean our en-suite smelt of urine and the stone flooring needs a scrub.

We have had a wonderful weekâs break staying in Netherbeck Cottage.
Julie was a brilliant host from pre arrival to post departure. The cottage is perfect in every way. We had most generous welcome treats to help us settle in. Netherbeck Cottage is fully equipped for self catering and we ate in several evenings. The rainfall shower was amazing and the bed was very comfotable. Julie had kindly printed off some local bus timetables and we used the bus to visit Morcambe and Lancaster. Carnforth is well situated for day visits out and we enjoyed a circular walk over Dallam Deer Park and to the Fairy Steps at Beetham. We also visited Warton Crag which is close by and has a great little microbrewery pub nearby. We highly recommend a stay at Netherbeck and will most definitely look to return in the future. Thank you Julie for your help, warmth and kindness. Mel and Simon
