My husband and I stayed at Star Cottage for a week and we couldn’t have asked for a nicer place to use as a base to explore the pretty market town of Holt and the surrounding area. Star cottage is a cosy little house with stylish décor, thoughtful touches throughout with amazing attention to detail, we loved that all the pictures on the walls had been painted by the owner. Lovely comfortable beds, a good shower and bath, fully equipped kitchen and a relaxing living room gave a real sense of home from home feeling. The cottage is perfectly placed on a quiet side street just off the centre of the town with all the amenities a short walk away. Holt is a beautiful town full of friendly independent shops and restaurants, we really liked the Sunday market with its craft stalls and home made goods, we couldn’t help buying some chutney and pasties to bring home. The owners provided us with an extensive information pack full of recommendations for local restaurants, cafes and even which tea room to go to for the best home made scones! There were details of local walks, places of interest near by and days out further afield including which car parks to use. All in all we had a lovely relaxing holiday and would definitely recommend Star Cottage to friends and family.

The property is amazing, I'm not sure the photos or description do it justice, it's so much better!! The twin bedroom is a great size with two full sized beds and lots of space. The kitchen is so well equipped (the oven door doesn't shut properly, which doesn't effect use but can't be very energy efficient), the garden is lovely and huge (would be great to have been able to go out the back gate on to the footpath but it was locked). The footpath leads out on to an amazing walk round Spouts Hill and we walked to the Kings Head pub at Letheringsett which we highly recommend. A short 2minute walk into Holt Town Centre and some lovely cafes and shops. The sitting room is great and comfy sofas, the snug is lovely but feels a bit like a lost room, it could benefit from a tv/dvd player in. An amazing property highly recommend and we will definitely be back.

Albert Cottage is in a great location, less than 5 minutes walk from the Market Place but also very quiet. It's a very pretty, double-fronted flint-faced cottage which has nicely decorated, good-sized rooms. It's also full of light, which we liked very much. The stairs are quite steep, with a narrow tread so they have to be negotiated with care, but there are wooden hand rails on each side. Overall, we liked the cottage very much. However, a significant drawback for us was the parking situation. There is one dedicated parking space in a niche beside the kitchen. We read the information about the size of the space and the importance of not blocking the shared driveway before booking. As we have a smail car (in the 'supermini' class) we thought it would be fine but getting in and out of the space was tricky with not a lot of room for manoeuvre.

The cottage was in an excellent location within walking distance of the main shops, restaurants and cafes which is fine if you haven't got a car as parking is a bit of an issue. However the parking is quite cheap (£8.50 for 24 hours) which was a 4-5 minute walk from the cottage. There is also free parking on some of the side roads after 6pm in the evenings and all day Sunday. The property had excellent facilities - everything we would expect to use in our short stay including a washing machine, hoover and cleaning products which were handy. The sofa can pull out to make a bed which is comfortable for movie nights however the TV is not a Smart tv so there is no Netflix for example but this matter can be solved if you bring your own laptop or tablet. It was also useful to have an extra freezer in the cupboard which was very useful for us.

We had a lovely week in this delightful cottage last September. Great attention to detail has been given to the decor and the cottage is tastefully furnished and decorated throughout, giving a modern yet cosy feel. The bed and settees were very comfortable.The cottage is ideally located and within easy walking distance of all the shops, cafes and restaurants in Holt town centre. It was a pleasure not to have to drive everywhere. Full instructions were provided on how to use the appliances and where to park. All our needs were catered for. It was a pleasure to stay here and I would definitely recommend it.
