"I would recommend but with reservations. The property is ideal for young children and pets and we all had a great time. However, everything could do with a giant spring clean. The settee in the dining room was downright grubby and the settees in the living room were not the cleanest. There were curtains missing at some windows, some of the fittings were starting to come away at the wall, there were a lot of cobwebs, the plastic tablecloth in the kitchen was ripped and stained, a toilet seat was broken, and so on. Having said that, the bones of the house were fantastic and we were happy to overlook the faults. It was refreshing to find somewhere that hadn't been farrow and balled to within an inch of its life, but a few feminine touches and a thorough clean would have made it even better. On the plus side, it was homely, the rooms were a great size, the beds were comfortable, the views were wonderful, the garden was great and because it wasn't precious, we had a very relaxing and thoroughly enjoyable stay. I would happily go back despite the downsides."

" The house itself is beautiful and full of character. Perfect for anyone wanting to get away from noise and the busy-ness of life. It's beautiful inside and was wonderful to come home to after a long day in the cold - very cosy and warm! Set in the middle of the countryside it is surrounded by bright yellow fields and farm animals (perhaps not so good for bad hayfever sufferers at this time of year). Plenty of walking to be done in the local area! The property itself is perfect for children with a sandpit, slide, swings and plenty of go-karts and tricycles to play on all day. Our kids all had great fun making use of these (as did the adults), along with the ping pong table in the games room of the barn next door. Our stay could not have been better! Honestly couldn't fault it, and with the host so close by, it meant that had we had any difficulties she was right there, ready to help and always with a big smile on her face. Thank you Sara! We hope to be back again. "

" We have just stayed here for the bank holiday weekend for my 50th birthday we hired the corn house and the spinney retreat for our family and some friends as there was 12 of us altogether. We have had an amazing few days the house is brilliant there was plenty of room for all of us. The kitchen is really well equipped has everything you need, was a big help having two fridges in there to cope with all the food we took. Our bedroom was lovely plenty of room and storage space. Our grandchildren loved the play area and so did the adults playing Tennis and basketball and also going on the go karts shame weather wasn't a bit nicer. The men also spent a lot of time in the games rooms having competitons against each other. Our friends who stayed in the Spinney Retreat said how lovely and peaceful it was. Cant wait to go back again great place for us to all get together . "

"Clean. Accommodation flexible (lots of bedrooms). However, our double bedroom did not have a wardrobe! Kitchen well equipped and sufficient size for our large (12) group. Lounge dreadful, massive space, lighting appalling. The lounge was chilly during the day and freezing in the evening (rainy June). The central-heating is totally inadequate in this room. There is a log burning "feature fire" which has seen better days, which guests have to light, it is useless at heating such an enormous space. Besides freezing, everybody spending the evening in there comes out reeking of smoke! We were under the impression that this property was suitable for people with mobility issues, it is not. There are steps into the property and steps between the kitchen and the lounge. The access road got very boggy and rutted due to the torrential rain when we were there. So, anyone with a small or low car may want to be aware of this."

"We stayed at The Knowle last weekend (1st - 4th March) with our family - 10 adults and 5 children, for joint Birthday celebrations. The house was ideal had a lovely feel to it, and the accommodation excellent. It completely suited our needs and the snooker room was a super amenity. The house is well maintained, immaculately clean as are the bathrooms. We were able to walk alongside the river, there is access to a public footpath immediately opposite the house, the Swan pub is about 80 yards away where we had drinks and children’s meals on Friday night and a superb Sunday lunch. Bridgnorth is an attractive town with lots of interesting shops and restaurants and the funicular railway is added interest. All round a great weekend so many thanks to Helen for allowing us to use her beautiful house!Rod and Gill, Sutton Coldfield."
