Guests that stayed at this property said

The cottage receives consistent commendations for its immaculate condition, with multiple reviews highlighting its cleanliness. One review mentioned the need for cleaner dining chairs, but this appears to be an isolated comment.

The location is frequently described as peaceful and ideal for exploring local sights and enjoying the countryside. Its proximity to Shrewsbury and other attractions is noted positively, with no negative comments on location.

While many guests find the cottage comfortable, there are comments about the settees being uncomfortable and suggestions for larger beds. The comfort of the mattresses was also questioned by one guest.

Facilities are generally well-regarded, with mentions of a good heating system and powerful showers. However, suggestions for additional kitchenware and a walk-in shower indicate room for improvement.

Guests frequently mention the thoughtful gestures of the hosts, such as providing welcome gifts like milk, eggs, and biscuits. It should be noted that while these gifts are appreciated, they are not guaranteed for every stay.

Cleanliness good, Mattresses need replacing, found it difficult to get comfortable, so got little sleep. Stained dinning room chairs. Saw little of owner. Would not come again.

From their warm personal welcome, with recommendations of local activities and attractions for us to consider, and throughout our stay, nothing has been too much trouble for them. The quality of the accommodation is excellent. Immaculately clean and well-equipped, with weekly bed linen and towel changes, we have been very comfortable and appreciative of our time at Oakdene Farm. We would be delighted to stay here again.

Our hosts left us some very welcome gifts of Coronation Biscuits (and we took the tin as a memento), a bottle of Coronation ale and some milk. Thank you very much. The location is very close to both Shrewsbury and Ellesmere - both delightful places to visit. We also visited Berrington Hall, Attingham park, and Chirk Castle - all highly recommended. Our one negative comment is about the settees, which we found very uncomfortable (sorry). Also worth considering would be the installation of a walk in shower. It is not always easy for some people to clamber into a bath for a shower especially as there are no handles fitted in either bathroom.
