"Fantastic cottage in a picturesque village, 2 single beds in master bedroom to make large king size. Bedding was spotlessly clean but could have done with lower tog duvets. Two single beds in second bedroom. Very good shower over bath and safety handrail to help getting in & out and again very clean. Large soft fluffy towels were lovely. Stairs were quite steep but to be expected in a cottage of that age, so perhaps not suitable for less able bodied or very young children. Kitchen was well equipped and equipment was clean, but unit doors & around outside of oven could do with a wipe down as some grease & splatter, but I am quite fastidious about cleaning! We were lucky with parking as none designated so it's a case of finding a space around the village. There is a pub, shop & tea room in the village. We didn't use the pub but the shop was well stocked. The Primrose tea room is definitely worth visiting, cream tea and coffee & walnut cake to die for and very reasonable. Good walks, we took our little dog on her first holiday and she loved it although dogs not supposed to go on furniture or upstairs which was a challenge as stairs straight out of living room!"

"This is an absolutely fabulous cottage situated within 1 minute walk of a pub, tea rooms & a bakery/shop/post office. Everything you need is provided. Although parking is not available directly outside the cottage, which is used for loading purposes only, there were plenty of easily available car spaces within a very short distance. The cottage provided access to several short/long walks from the front door and is located in a very pretty village close to other pretty hamlets and wonderful countryside. Linen, cooker, washing machine, log fire and TV with DVD provided (although not DVD's, shampoo, logs or kindling and mobile signal was non existent!). We found that the fire had been used as it was not cleaned when we arrived (fortunately the weather was very good and we did not need to light it which was just as well as we had no kindling or logs!). Thoroughly recommend this cottage for either a couple of family of four and look forward to staying there again."

"The cottage was rather small, which is not necessarily a problem, but it might be if you were a party of four adults as there wouldn't be enough space in the lounge dining room. It would be better to make the twin into a single with a wider bed, especially as there was little provision for clothing. There wasn't much room to get by at the end of the double bed, which might be a problem for some people. There was no communication, we couldn't get through on the contact numbers to phone prior to arrival and had to leave a message. On arrival the door was unlocked but we had no idea where the keys were and only found them almost by chance. There was little hot water in the bathroom. It is easy to find fault with almost any self catering cottage and seem negative. S19370 was warm, quite well equipped with plenty of crockery, cutlery and utensils, and was generally clean with good lighting, but never four star."

"The cottage is classed as four star but it clearly isn't. We were told not to arrive before 4 and the cottage wasn't quite ready . On the kitchen table were 3 small jars of tea, coffee and sugar . The sugar had been there along time as it was a solid mass and the coffee was a solid mass and black . There was a stain on the rug where a dog had either been sick or had a wee . The cottage had a smell as soon as we walked in . The dvd player wasn't even set up . The cottage needed a really good clean . We have stopped in other properties with our dogs and they haven't smelled . Other properties have had welcome packs varying from wine ,flowers, biscuits, scones,Welsh cakes . I would have expected a four star rating to do this . We were in what we thought was a cottage but it had people above us which we didn't expect ."

"An amazing, beautifully appointed holiday home set in picturesque surroundings. Sheila was a charming host and even gave us a tour of the other properties before we left. Spotlessly clean and with every attention to detail covered, it's a perfect base for covering Dartmoor National Park and the rest of South Devon. A lovely welcome pack awaits visitors too. The grounds include a little gym, a small games room with a pool table and darts board and as many Bramley apples that you can gather off the floor under the many trees. The outdoor hot tub is sublime and a perfect way to end a hard day's exploring. There is also a comfortable balcony, decking area and patio allowing sun worship at any time of the day! Overall, the nicest holiday home we have tried in the UK to date!! Highly recommended!!"
