"Lovely, well equipped cottage. Very comfy double bed! Great for access to beautiful town centre of Shrewsbury by foot. Lovely river walk + castle + train station on the way into town. Loads of history, fantastic market (lots of french food for some reason, yummy cheese anyway!) and great for shopping- literally any high street store you can think of! I would say it is fairly baby friendly as well, we didn't have any trouble with our 4 months old boy (you have to bring your own travel cot, bouncy or high chair too). All in all a lovely stay, hopefully will come back again soon. P.S. A bottle of cava and chocolate sweets on the arrival was a lovely touch. We really enjoyed them. Thank you x"

"We booked at short notice and were pleasantly surprised by what we found. The property was compact but comfortable and clean, with a large king size bed and a well laid out shower room. We found our hosts friendly & helpful and appreciated the "welcome pack." There is some noise from the A49 as mentioned, but it is not obtrusive inside the house, so not to us at least, a serious issue. The Cottage is well sited for the local countryside but also the many local English Heritage and National Trust sites. It is also well sited for the Severn Valley and Welshpool steam railways. We enjoyed our week and would recommend the property for a couple seeking a pleasant bolt hole away."

"Perfect location if you want somewhere that is quiet and with a bit of space to spread out, but within easy walking distance of the centre of Shrewsbury. There is a small grocery store barely 2 minutes walk away. The house is well equipped, and clean and tidy, and the owners are delightful to deal with. The second bedroom isn't huge, and the shower is downstairs, but then it is a Victorian terraced house - if all you need is a base for exploring and a place to crash at the end of a day out, this isn't a problem - the kitchen/dining area and sitting room are comfortable and more than adequate. We really liked it and would come again."

"The Arch is a beautiful little cottage for two, having all the amenities needed for a simple week away. Incredibly peaceful location, with beautiful views from the bedroom and small garden, it was a joy to sit on the patio for a couple of hours simply watching the wind blow through the trees! We needed a really restful week, so stayed at "home" in the cottage for half the time we were visiting, and I couldn't think of a more comfy relaxing place to stay to recharge. If we ever revisit that part of the country in the future, I wouldn't hesitate to book The Arch again."

"The serenity and tranquillity of the surrounding countryside was relaxing. The cottage itself was quirky and furnished in keeping with its character. The view from the bedroom each morning was delightful and the terrace in the evening was an excellent place to sit. The owner was extremely helpful while being discreet. The location of the cottage allowed easy access over the border into Wales and the proximity to Oswestry made life very easy. We would highly recommend this cottage to anyone seeking peace and quiet."
