"This cottage is in a fantastic location, a short way from Norwich, with the Broads and coast easily accessible. There are walks from the door, and it has a lovely and peaceful setting. The beds were extremely comfortable and overall the cottage was presented in an attractive manner. We were provided with plenty of towels and clean bedding. We were a small party, so the amount of kitchen equipment was just adequate. The TV and WiFi signal was good. We were able to use the 2 small sofas in the main room. The seating in the ‘snug’ was so uncomfortable that it was unusable. There were sadly a few issues with the cleanliness of the downstairs rooms, with the oven being so filthy that it set off the smoke alarms within 10 minutes of being turned on, with nothing in it! We were left with inadequate cleaning supplies to rectify this, or brush the floor. The vacuum was tantamount to useless.Note to dog owners. This is a brilliant location for dog walks, however the garden is not secure - and the owners make no claims that it is. The excellent fencing in the photos only reaches around three sides, the other side being a hedge with a bit of chicken wire with holes that even a large dog can get out of.We did not use the hot tub, because it was not hot enough and looked dirty, with foliage and dirt in it. We contacted the owner, who came to look at it very quickly, and assured us that even though the water felt luke warm, and got no warmer, it was 39 degrees; and that it had been cleaned. I’m sure he must be right, but it looked less than appealing. In short - what a shame. It was so nearly gorgeous, just in need of some care."

"Quirky little cottage in an ideal location. Not toddler friendly and I wish this had been made clear in the advertising, however, once we had moved everything breakable off the various low shelves and put out of arms reach we could relax a little easier. Upstairs was much more comfortable than downstairs, the two bedrooms are both lovely, spacious and comfortable. The uneven stairs were tricky with the toddler and if you're uneasy at all on your feet you might struggle. The shower is not suitable for anyone taller than 5'6! There seems to be a live band across the road every Saturday, which if forewarned is not necessarily a problem, though if you were hoping for a tranquil break don't be expecting any sleep that night! There were no towels provided despite towels being present in the photos, we re-read as much information as we had prior to our visit, no mention of needing to bring own towels so we ended up buying some when down there. We were confused by the comments left by other visitors about the cleanliness of the cottage - we found many items left behind by previous visitors and plenty of dust and cobwebs, perhaps that is the thing about travelling with a toddler - they get into spaces you wouldn't ordinarily find yourself! Despite these minor issues, the cottage served us well for our requirements for the weekend, we were visiting friends and the location of the cottage was perfect and just what we needed for the short time we were there."

"Whilst the cottage could be very nice, we encountered a number of issues; individually these may be minor, but collectively they did affect the overall holiday experience:- the hot tub did not work, it was lukewarm on the first day and got colder.- there was no guidance or instructions in the use of the hot tub or sauna and we had to work it out ourselves.- there were no outside lights covering the hot tub and sauna making access dangerous without a torch.- whilst there was a dishwasher, the plates were not dishwasher safe.- a bread knife would have been useful as would a greater selection of glasses.- the blind cords were long and not secured and pose a risk to small children (we had a 1 year old with us).- the Dyson was blocked and could not be cleared so was unusable.- we asked for the bed in the third bedroom to be made up as a super king in line with the property details but this consisted of two single beds being pushed together and there was no access to different bed linen or duvet. Our experience of other cottages of this type has been of a higher standard. Whilst we were able to make do for the few days we were there, it would have been more challenging over a longer period.Overall the cottage was disappointing but with a few small changes it could have been significantly improved."

"This is probably the best cottage we have ever booked through website.Dave and Debs were very welcoming on our arrival and went through everything we needed to know about the annex. The welcome pack they provided us was amazing and not something I have received before, we had bread, eggs, milk, butter, coffee, cake, kitchen roll, toilet rolls, washing up liquid. Debs replenished this the following week as we stayed for 2 weeks.Towels were plentiful and a good size and quality. The bed was very comfortable and duvet was king size so no fighting over it in the night. The annex was suitably placed for what we wanted to do - nothing was too far away so we were able to go out walking every day on a variety of terrains. It was also good to have Stalham a few minutes away for shopping, but there were also decent pubs and cafes nearby as well as several great farm shops. The cottage provided us with a great base which was comfortable, clean and relaxing, we had everything we needed and I would definitely recommend to others as well as stay again if I was returning to Norfolk"

"LiCracking little cottage. A few little niggles. But loads of good stuff!Lovely secure, private and nature abounding back garden. Birds galore including a black bird nesting in the grape vine.Upstairs was perfect, clean tidy and a credit to the property.Down stairs has just a few niggles. The kitchen needs new taps to allow a kettle to be filled. The living room floor needs sealing, we had to wipe our feet constantly.Parking was fun, there was no parking at all outside the cottage during our visit, we had to park around the corner. Don’t be put off by my gripes as the beach just 50yds away was a delight, local pubs offer basic food and it’s a drive to all of North Norfolk’s attractions. Highly recommended Middle Cottage, would of loved to get the log burner going, but as it was June we would of melted!"
