"We have just returned from a fantastic week at Cwmcelyn. It has been lovingly restored and has been made to feel like a home away from home, with everything you need for a relaxing break. There are three bedrooms. 2 are a nice size considering the size of the property, the 3rd was cosy but it would be a tight squeze for a 2nd person. All were clean and dust free, and beds were comfortable. Ample space in the bathroom and wetroom too. The kitchen and utility room totally assist you in making the most of a self catering hol with virtually every utensil and appliance you could need to cook and subsequently clean with. It was nice to arrive to find milk tea and coffee already stocked, with various other usful bits and bobs left by other guests. We felt compelled to add to the collection! The diswasher and tumble drier were handy too and you probably could get through the whole day without reusing the same plate or glass as they were very numerous.....we obviously didn't get that lazy though. The lounge was cosy although make good use of the fire as the stone floor was rather cold.(but we did have a cold week) The best feature, for me, anyway was the hot tub. Its covered but still gives you amazing views day and night (oh the stars!) and unlike some places i have stayed.....it was as hot or cool as we needed for us and our children. The garden is fully enclosed with a gate and safe for children to play freely. This cottage truly has it all if you are looking for a secluded relaxing break. There isn't a lot to do in the winter, but the local villages and towns have all you need stock up, with some lovely little villages to just explore. Many thanks to Sian and family for making Cymcelyn such a beautiful place to holiday. We can't wait to come back again."

"My wife, myself and two friends stayed at this lovely property during the week of the Royal Welsh Show and were overwhelmed by the friendliness not only of the owners, John and Karen Jones, but of the local people who frequented John and Karen's pub at night. The property is very well set-out and has everything you might need. The furnishings are comfortable and in very good condition. We had excellent weather during our stay and managed to sit out in the garden. This also gave us a chance to talk with the occassional passer-by, and walkers tackling Glyndwr's Way. The pub, which opens at 8:00p.m., Monday to Saturday, is a 30 seconds walk away from the house. The house is attached to a post office, operated by Karen, and opens two days a week. As you can see, this is a very rural retreat. It is, however, a short drive to local towns Rhayder, Builth Wells, etc, and lies in, and near, superb scenery, including the Elan Valley. There are also frequent sightings of Red Kites over the house. If you want somewhere to stay on this area you should consider Taylors Cottage as one of your options."

"We stayed over October half term with friends, four adults, four children. First impressions on arrival were excellent. Beautiful tucked away location, very clean , tidy and welcoming. The fantastic homemade cake was amazing! The huge separate games room was a real bonus and spent many hours in here with the kids. the property is spacious and it never feels like you are on top of each other. The only downside is having the one bathroom as it makes for slow progress getting out in the morning! The extra cost of £5.00 for towels per person seemed an unnecessary extra expense especially given the fact they are waiving this from 2017! No wifi or 4g/3g but that was good as the kids couldn't use their gadgets! Surrounding area truly lovely, well worth visiting the Elan valley, great pub, the Triangle in town."

"This cottage was situated in a great location to relax and unwind with family and friends. The location is quiet and secluded, with the only sign of life being the animals and occasional tractor. The accomodation has been beautifully updated with all the modcons (Dishwasher, Utility Room, Wifi etc.) and is well stocked with everything you would need for your stay. The owner is very friendly and made us feel welcome straight away. Within our party were three young children and the grounds were all enclosed within fences to keep them safe, there was also a really nice play area (with swings and slide) for the children. There is also a well maintained Jacuzzi which is great for relaxing after a long walk."

"This cottage was fantastic and the owners were great too. Very relaxing week even with a seven month old and a three year old. The outside area is so safe and my boy could play for hours. The fresh air definitely made them sleep. The hot tub was an added bonus. The kitchen equipment was amazing and having the washer dryer really helped with the babies clothes/bibs etc. We explored the area - red kites, elan valley, drove to the coast, train trip at Devils Bridge. All fantastic days out and worth doing. We even took the boys swimming at the local leisure centre on a wet day which has a fab warm pool. Thanks Sian for a great week in mid Wales. We hope to return."
