What our customers say about their holidays

    • Laura - Verified booking

Everything about our stay was absolutely perfect!

From the moment we arrived we had a friendly welcome and the cottage had everything and more. Our two boys were super excited to find a easter hamper with home made goodies as well as the little easter treats dotted around. The cottage has all the little extras including towels, bath robes, hand wash, toilet rolls, body wash as well as all the necessities in the kitchen including all condiments as well as tea, coffee and a small bottle of milk. There is all the information you need to ensure you can work all appliances in the cottage as well as information leaflets about the local area. We visited West Midlands Safari Park and Drayton Manor both are excellent for all ages. We also visited the local pub The Salwey Arms which serve a delicious roast dinner. The hot tub was amazing and stayed at temperature. It gets tested daily which is fab. The cottage as well as the surrounding area is really well kept. On our last day Pete & Karen took the boys up to see the farm animals and the tractors which was just the perfect was to end our weekend away! If we travel to that area again we would not hesitate to book Acorn Cottage for another stay. Thank you Pete & Karen for such a wonderful stay, your cottage is fabulous!

My mum and I + the dog came to stay for 4 days (3nights), we had the most incredible time , the cottage was so clean it looked like no one had ever been in there before us!

The bed was so comfy and we had the best nights sleep ever , we had the most incredible views of the horses from our window which was lovely , especially to see the foul aswell. Every detail was thought about including a spare toothbrush as I’d forgotten mine! The hot tub was incredible and Pete got it going for us and was perfect for when we came back from dinner. We ate mostly at bishops castle hotel which was incredible and i can highly recommend it, we also ate at the three turns (you will need to try their onion rings). We went on lovely walks to the discovery centre and they had many routes to go on, we went to carding hill valley aswell for a lovely 4 mile walk with the dog, very steep hills so defo recommend walking boots. Overall Teresa and Pete were great hosts and we will definitely be returning, such a positive experience and could not fault them at all!

It was perfect for our stay.

So lovely to have two bedrooms the same size so lots of lovely space. Beds really comfortable and heating vey user friendly so cosy and snug in February. Check out the custom made double bed - fab! The open plan living downstairs made a lovely family space with everything we needed. The hot tub a real treat and a first for most of the family, so great memories made. Location is great for some fab site seeing. We went to Ludlow, weir & castle and Iron bridge. Hosts, Karen and Peter are very welcoming and knowledgeable on the area. Total recommend this cottage and will be back if I head to the area again. (Also, they have a second themed cottage which is absolutely fabulous and a MUST for Hobbit fans!! We were invited for a sneak peak - its brilliant!)

My husband and I and our two dogs have just enjoyed a wonderful stay here for Christmas.

After a very busy year for us both we really wanted somewhere we could stay and just relax and this property was perfect. The owners provided us with a Christmas tree and decorations which made it feel very festive and cosy. Our two dogs absolutely loved the secure little garden with grass for them to run around and be safe and while we didn’t use the hot tub, the owners were ready to heat it up had we asked and were very accommodating. There is everything in the property provided that you could possibly need and we cooked a wonderful Christmas dinner with all the amenities at hand. Overall a wonderful place, amazing views and near enough to local towns to visit such as Ludlow and Shrewsbury.

We had a long weekend here to celebrate a family birthday. The house was perfect, tastefully renovated with many original features. There was plenty room for us, 6 adults and 3 children. The furnishings and equipment provided was all a very good quality and plenty of everything. The town can be easily reached on foot and there is access to many walks right out of the back gate. We all enjoyed the spacious garden and hot tub, there were also lots of toys and games inside the house for kids and adults in the event of a rainy day. Tony and Jess were very quick to answer any question we had. It was a very enjoyable weekend in a lovely house with a great location and we would definitely return again.
