    Knighton Holiday Cottages

The border market town of Knighton sits in two counties and two countries: Powys, Wales and Shropshire, England. Knighton has a chequered history, governed by the Council of Marcher Lords for many years, who met at nearby Ludlow Castle. Today, both English and Welsh are spoken here and the town thrives in its diversity.

Sitting on the River Teme, the town is surrounded by the Marches countryside. Knighton is known in Welsh as ‘Tref-y-Clawdd’ — translating directly to 'the town on the dyke'. Home to the Offa’s Dyke Visitor Centre, an information hub for wildlife, walking and cycling routes, Knighton is popular for its scenic location. Choose one of our dog-friendly accommodations so Fido can enjoy the great walking routes of Knighton, too. After all that exploring, wind down at one of our properties with a fireplace or hot tub.

Knighton holiday cottages come in all shapes and sizes and are backed by our best price guarantee. On Snaptrip, you can filter for all the amenities you might need: from the luxury of a hot tub to a swimming pool. Overwhelmed by choice? Drop our friendly customer service team a line. What our customers say about their holidays

    • Emma-louise - Verified booking

The house is lovely and is set in beautiful surroundings, the facilities are great, beds very comfortable and towels provided, both for the hot tub and normal showering.

The downside is, its just down hill from a farm, which stinks, a normal farm with normal farm smells wouldn't be so bad, but the smell is really really strong. This means that there is an abundance of flies everywhere, the house is full of them, it made cooking in the kitchen really difficult as the flies landed on everything, more than 30 buzzing around. There were dead flies under the bed, I counted 20 under mine. it really spoiled the stay. The hot tub was lovely and warm, but hadn't been cleaned properly and a previous guest had obviously got in with fake tan or something and there was a greasy scum around the top of the hot tub and brown foam when you put the bubbles on. The hot tub wasn't ready when we arrived, but if it had been clean we wouldn't have minded so much. It was sorted during Saturday and that was much better. There is a fire pit, but could really do with a BBQ, this was raised by a guest in 2017 so hasn't been addressed. Getting a taxi anywhere is a no go, but the owner organised a very lovely man with a mini bus to take us into the nearest town so we could have a meal and the local pub, we then had to ring him and he picked us up. Fantastic service and only £20 each way, although we paid him £50 because he was great. If you could pick the house up and put it a bit further away from the farm then this is the most amazing place. But marred by flies :(

We had a fantastic holiday at No.

1 Beacon View Barn in July. It’s in an idyllic spot, where the only noise you can hear is the occasional sheep bleating & the view is just stunning from the front of the property. The barn is beautifully decorated, with comfy seating, big wardrobes, high ceilings and a great rainfall shower. The kitchen was really well equipped (better than ours at home I think!) & the welcome basket with prosecco, eggs and dog treats was a lovely touch. The garden is safely enclosed which was great for our dog – she loved sitting on the patio staring at the sheep in the fields. Lin & James (the owners) came & introduced themselves & made sure we knew how to contact them if needed. They’re very friendly & have lots of advice about places to walk & eat which is great if you don’t know the area – there is also a good supply of maps and tourist attraction leaflets in the barn. There are some good walks you can do from the doorstep and it’s only a short drive to some nice towns & pubs. We had a great time exploring during the days, then relaxing in the hot tub sipping wine in the evenings looking at the view. We only stayed for a week but felt so relaxed and recharged by the time we headed home, we’re already starting to plan our next visit!

Cannot praise the place enough, all you need to bring with you is yourselves, food and cloths, literally.

The Cottage and garden were spotless, Lin, the lady who runs the places was so helpful and could not do enough for us, and what’s more she is happy to deal with anything you want or require at any time day or night. The WiFi is limited to 25Gb for seven days which is more than enough unless you want to stream video’s etc, the download speed is around 15 to 20Mbs which again is very good and more than enough, my wife and I used about 4Gb in the first week. There is no mobile signal or 3 or 4G, however WiFi Calling worked fine. The large flatscreen TV in the Living Room is a smart TV, we brought a small USB Hard Drive with Movies on which worked fine for the evenings. There is a Freeview box as well as DVD player and to top it all about 30 Movie DVD’s provided for you to watch if you wish. As far as we are concerned you could not wish for more, oh by the way the hot tub just outside the door is spot on and the garden is FULLY ENCLOSED so if you have a dog he will be well safe and not able to escape. WELL DONE LIN

The Hayloft is just what we wanted and more for a wonderful friends get-together.

Plenty of space for board games, communal cooking, and meals. The hot tub was always nice and hot and we enjoyed playing on the covered pool table outside. The view out the glass front of the barn never got old, especially on stormy afternoons. The surrounding area is lovely as well and I'd recommend an easy trip to the water-breaks-its neck waterfall. All the rooms were cosy and comfortable, and the bathrooms clean and modern. If you are a large group staying for more than a few days, bring some extra toilet roll with you. A few bits around the house could use a bit of an update- for example, the dining room chairs are a bit uncomfortable, the tablecloth could do with being replaced, and there didn't seem to be a key for the door to the patio, but all in all they weren't significant enough to hamper our enjoyment of the property. Would definitely stay again!

Lovely property in which me and my two friends came to visit!

The location is very much “in the middle of no where” and the nearest town with shops is 30 minutes away so if you are looking to relax, make sure to bring your own food or arrange for a Tesco delivery. It was a beautiful place and the air feels very fresh. The only thing is that there would be more items available such as washing up powder, and a sponge to clean our plates (more the pans that don’t go in the dishwasher)! The Netflix stopped working on the second night so we resorted to watching the olympics instead, so maybe a guide on how to use the TV would be appreciated. The fridge had a little carton of milk, eggs were provided and a bottle of bubbly (thank you). The owners were very patient whilst we were late checking out and they did not make a fuss so we really appreciated that we were not rushed to leave. Thanks so much, very lovely stay!!!
