About this property

This attractive stone cottage sits in a peaceful spot about half a mile above the village of Abersoch and has large gardens and fantastic views.

Hunker down in this quirky stone cottage with an eclectic mix of interior decor styles – including hints of traditional, contemporary and French chic. Admire distant sea views from the pretty cottage garden and many of the rooms indoors. Spend your time away with your other half or small family plus two canine companions enjoying long coastal walks, swimming in the sea and discovering charming seaside towns.

Enter the property through the porch and continue into the bright and airy kitchen/diner with a Bohemian feel where you’ll find an ‘L’-shaped kitchen unit plus a small breakfast table with chairs. Continue into the comfortable and homely lounge with a mixture of dark and cheerful colours with a sofa bed, two wicker chairs, a TV and a dining table. There is also a wood burner and French doors which open up onto the patio. This property also has a family bathroom and two bedrooms – a double and a bunk bedroom. Outside is a mature garden with seating.

Stay on the Llŷn Peninsula near the picturesque seaside town of Abersoch (0.5 miles), where you’ll find seafood restaurants, independent shops and a marina. Less than 500 metres from a sandy Traeth Trwyn y Fach Beach, where you can admire views of the Snowdonia mountains while swimming in the sea. Set off on a long walk along the windswept coastline to Llanbedrog (2.5 miles). Or further afield, you could visit the historic Criccieth Castle (15 miles) or hop on a boat from Aberdaron (10.5 miles) to Bardsey Island.

We really enjoyed staying at Trefaes Bach. The property was clean, tidy, well equipped and well positioned for Abersoch and the beach. The decor was a little dated but probably added to the charm of the cottage. The views across the bay and over Snowdonia from the property were amazing. The real test is would we stay there again and the answer is yes, we would be happy to.
