A E Houseman once wrote that Shropshire was "the quietest place under the sun" and today the county remains something of a rural idyll, recognised as one of the least crowded and most peaceful regions in England.

Shrewsbury is an attractive historic town in Shropshire, famed for its black-and-white buildings, castle and abbey. The town was the birthplace of Charles Darwin, and offers a very good selection of shops, restaurants and bars, along with museums, galleries and the lovely new Theatre Severn. The River Severn is a focal point of the town, offering pleasant riverside walks and pleasure boat trips. From Shrewsbury it is easy to enjoy some of Shropshire's best attractions, from the mansion and deer park at NT Attingham Park, to the ten museums at Ironbridge, the wonderful countryside around Church Stretton, or the medieval town of Ludlow.

    Mrs Drabble, October 2017
" Care is needed when using the shower as the bath slopes "
    Mrs Mills, September 2017
" Perhaps the only drawback was the parking situation one way street and never got chance to park outside the house which made it difficult for unloading/loading. "
    Mrs Foster
"The cottage was beautiful and in a ideal place for sightseeing."
    Mrs Lauterjung
"Spotlessly clean, comfortable house, with well-equipped kitchen. The front bedroom is very spacious and has an excellent bed. The house is in a quiet side-street, and the nearest shop is just a couple of minutes' walk. We found the staircase quite steep, but this might not bother others."
