This holiday property is in a great location for exploring the Derbyshire and Staffordshire Peak District, and the fabulous market town of Ashbourne, with its quirky antique shops and many bespoke coffee shops and restaurants. Ashbourne is known as the gateway to the Peak District National Park and is an ideal base to visit many attractions, including Alton Towers, 8 miles. Beautiful Dovedale and Tissington Cycle Trail are within 5 miles. Shop 250 yards, pub and restaurant 300 yards.

    "Lovely long weekend with friends. Well equipped spacious house, only downside very creaky floorboards & only small towels in twin bedded bedroom. Overall very good value for money"

    "This is a fantastic house for any family there is plenty of room kitchen as plenty of utensils with the added of bonus of dishwasher, washing machine & tumble drier and downstairs facilities. There is plenty to do nearby I recommend Sudbury Hall and the museum of childhood. also Kedleston hall about 8 miles away. Wendy is lovely always on hand if you need anything."

    "Dissapointing! Lovely location, large spacious house and garden but very tired and in need of a thorough clean and refresh. The whole house felt worn out from the bin with the lid that didn't close and leaky kettle to the dirty stained carpets and well worn out lumpy beds and crispy towels... even the floor has given up, you can't move around upstairs without it sounding like a heard of elephants is traipsing around.The kitchen is well equipped with crockery and cooking equipment, at one time someone really put some effort into this place but it really feels neglected now."

    "When this property was first done as a holiday let it would have been fantastic, however, it's obvious that it's suffered a lot of wear and tare and needs upgrading, especially the carpets, that are badly stained. There is a no shoes policy......at least have clean carpets. The upstairs floor boards also squeak very badly, in every room. You can not tread anywhere without them squeaking....not good at all during the night. Definitely needs looking at.With a little TLC/investment this could once again be a lovely property."

    "Nicely appointed house. Two good pubs (food + drink) within walking distance. Convenient for Ashbourne, which has lots of nice shops and cafes."

    "More of a house than a cottage! Very well kept and very clean. Beds comfy. Kitchen equipment a little crammed with many multiples. Great fridge and freezer space. We had a food fridge and an alcohol fridge! Dining room a great space to play board games. Creaky floorboards upstairs meant it was impossible to tiptoe around at night without disturbing anyone. Great location being so close to Ashbourne. We found the sofas in the lounge very comfortable although a little antisocial as they were placed in a line but I don't know how they could have been arranged differently. Overall a great cottage though."
