    Hatersage Holiday Cottages

10 miles southwest of Sheffield, at the eastern end of the Hope Valley, sits Hathersage - a busy village with rich literary associations. Indeed, holiday cottages in Hathersage are often favoured by English students and bookworms as the gorgeous scenery makes for literary inspiration.

The Church of St Michael in the village houses the grave of Little John, the famous lieutenant of Robin Hood. Robin Hood’s Cave, the Well and Stoop, is also nearby. Moreover, Charlotte Bronte had close ties to the village – with North Lees Hall believed to be the model for Jane Eyre’s Thornfield Hall. Hathersage is surrounded by designated AONB (Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty), including Offerton, Abney Moor, and Bretton Clough - just north of the River Derwent. Those staying in Hathersage can enjoy drinks at the local country inn overlooking the river or explore the Hope Valley further by foot or bike.

At Snaptrip, our best price guarantee covers every booking made, so you won't find better value elsewhere. Property searches for holiday cottages in Hathersage can be filtered by your specific requirements: from parking availability to hot tubs. Should you need any further support, the Snaptrip customer service team are on-hand to help.

What our customers say about their holidays

    • Dee - Verified booking

This is a total one-off, quirky gem of a holiday cottage.

We loved the cosiness and appreciated the thought that had gone into fitting so much into such a small place. It worked perfectly for us and our small dog. We loved the decor, the comfortable bed, the warm shower and the well equipped kitchen. We are not used to such huge TVs or to streaming services, so probably did not make full use of these. The fast broadband/wifi was appreciated. I would have given five stars across the board, but there were just a few things that did not work or were missing, in particular the hooks for the outdoor seating shelf. This would have been lovely on a sunny evening, so we were disappointed not to find them where they were supposed to be. And not to have a hairdryer seems strange. Otherwise, a really lovely place to stay for a few nights. Bradwell is friendly and conveniently located, and we love the fact that it is a proper village and not full of tourists. The precipitous slopes take some getting used to after the Cambridgeshire fens!! Thank you for the welcome goodies. We hope to come back; thank you.

Had a great couple of nights here.

The cottage is conveniently located and nicely furnished. We really liked the layout of the sitting room, dining room and kitchen and it's comfortable and well-equipped. There is a lovely garden with great views from the sitting room. Although it's on the main road, it isn't too noisy. There's an excellent, powerful shower but we found there was a damp, musty smell in the shower room - probably needs better ventilation. Also, we would have liked a king size duvet for the front bedroom which we'd asked to have made up as a king size rather than twin beds. The cottage was pretty clean but there were some cobwebs / dust on some of the beams and lights. There are three unrestricted parking spaces opposite (if you can get one) and the Peak Hotel next door has a large car park with 24 hours parking for 8 pounds which they refund if you spend 10 pounds in the pub. Overall we'd recommend this cottage.

Whilst searching for somewhere to stay for an extremely last-minute break, I did not expect to find the little gem that was Harebell Cottage.

This place was so luxurious, with everything from the appliances to the furnishings to the crockery being of a very high standard. I appreciated the complimentary extras that were left for us - a lovely little gesture. Despite being closely situated, we hardly knew the owners were around and our stay was an extremely peaceful one. They were however very quick to respond and act when we required assistance with one of the appliances. We enjoyed taking the short walk to Curber Edge on one of the days to enjoy the stunning views and would recommend this walk to other visitors at the Cottage. Overall our stay here was a peaceful and relaxing one, and one that all members of our party thoroughly enjoyed. We would definitely recommend to others and look to return ourselves in hopefully the not to distant future.

EXCELLENT PEAK DISTRICT ACCOMMODATION Loose Hill Lea is ideally located for enjoying the very best area of The Peak District being only a few miles from both Hope and Castleton.

The house itself is situated in a very peaceful location at the end of a private road in the delightful hamlet of Shatton just two miles from Hathersage. The property is extremely well equipped, in particular, the kitchen where there is everything you need for self catering. Any instructions you need are readily to hand and couldn’t be clearer - in fact the best we have seen whilst renting many other properties over numerous years. The owner was very helpful when we contacted him. We used the CH first thing in the morning and during some evenings and it is not only efficient but also heats up the house exceptionally quickly. We love this area for the fantastic walking and will have no hesitation in re-booking Loose Hill Lea on our next visit to The Peak District. Highly recommended.

Stayed for a week over Christmas and had the best time.

Incredibly well equipped. As we were there over Christmas and local facilities were mostly shut we cooked everything in the cottage. As it was just for 2 people I had taken items I thought I'd need to achieve a Christmas lunch but didn't need any of what I'd taken. As described the cottage is cosy and quirky but despite its size it's had so much thought put into storage and use of space. Bradwell is a fantastic, welcoming village and we felt more at home than we do in our own village. Our elderly dog had a wonderful time and was made a fuss of everywhere we went especially in The White Hart pub where he always got a biscuit and a bowl of water. Beautiful countryside, cosy, comfortable cottage and fantastic people gave us a wonderful Christmas. Would definitely stay again, thank you
