A beautiful adjoining barn conversion, Crimson Cottage exudes a romantic feel, with lovely furnishings, a large open-spaced living room with high beams and multi-fuel burner, a beautifully fitted kitchen, a pretty mezzanine double bedroom as well as a Jacuzzi bathroom, making this a perfect hideaway for couples. The holiday property lies within the grounds of Wreaks End Farm, where there are other charming holiday cottages (refs 23376 and UK10075), just 1 mile from the market town of Broughton-in-Furness, with its cobbled square, shops, pubs, café and restaurants. You are right on the doorstep of the Duddon Valley, which is a ‘jewel in the crown’ of Cumbria, situated between Coniston and Eskdale: remote, unspoilt and perhaps the most idyllic corner of the Lake District. The Duddon Valley will delight walkers, mountain bikers, climbers, nature lovers and those who enjoy the peace and beauty of the countryside. The tiny villages of Ulpha and Seathwaite are two focal points of the valley. At Ulpha there is a post office/village shop, while Seathwaite, situated near the end of the ancient Walna Scar road, boasts a 16th-century inn, where good home-cooked food, real ales and a warm welcome await, all day all year. The property is the perfect base from which to explore this part of the Western Lakes, while Windermere, Bowness and many other attractions in the Lake District National Park are all within easy driving distance. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile.

"We had a lovely stay here with our 3 dogs in October. Cottage is beautiful, well equipped and clean. The only down side was the busy road in the morning and being a little bit out of the village. We drove in and out with the dogs rather than walk them down the twisty road."

"We had four very enjoyable nights at the property with our three dogs. We didn't realise how far away from Broughton in Furness but we weren't that bothered and just took food in as opposed to eating in the local pubs. If you are taking your dogs there is a fantastic place to take the dogs for a walk but it is in the village which is a two minute drive away but well worth the drive. Good base to explore the Lakes even if it is in the South lakes.Nice wood burner that warmed the whole house"

"Cottage was amazing but the seating could be more comfortable"

"Brilliant little romantic getaway cottage for those that are looking to explore the south and western lakes."

"We would come back again, the cottage is fab really nice location, only point i could make is he bathroom is a little tired in areas round shower, and round bath panel, also hand towel smelt of stagnet water. But overall very good value for money lovely cottage"

"My partner and I had a lovely stay at crimson cottage. It was spotlessly clean and so many lovely touches. The jazucci bath was an added bonus as was the fire place , four poster bed and local village pub, The local people were all friendly and welcoming as was Jean the owner who popped in to say hello. We would defiantly recommend staying there for a short , break . Thank you"

"Lovely little cottage with home comforts and modern styling. Jacuzzi bath lovely to relax in after a day walking the fells. Only downside is that it's next to a busy road and nowhere safe to walk dogs direct from cottage."
    Denise ‐ 18 Jan 2019
"We only had 2 nights but it was a lovely cottage, tastefully finished and ideally situated for us to discover the south Lakes"
    CHRISTOPHER ‐ 6 Jan 2019

"Beautifully decorated and cosy, clean cottage - can’t fault the cottage or the helpful owner it was lovely For us the traffic from the busy road was slightly annoying as we live in a very quiet street And we had to drive to places to walk the dogs as there were no safe routes to walk and very little to do on the doorstep"
    Georgette ‐ 23 Oct 2018
"Very nice holiday in Lake District"
