At the centre of the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site, it’s a town steeped in rich industrial heritage and creative culture. Meander through its cobbled streets to find independent boutiques, delicious eateries and historic sites aplenty. The North Mill and visitor centre makes for an educational day out, whilst the Belper River Gardens is a tranquil space amongst nature whatever the season, with rowing boats available for hire during the summer months. Situated just south of the Peak District National Park you can explore the nearby sights of Matlock (10mls) and Bakewell (18mls) with absolute ease.
