" The barn conversion has been very carefully carried out and the quiet location is excellent for exploring the White Peak area of the Derbyshire Peak District. Chesterfield (and a huge Tesco Extra) are only 10 mins drive away, so the best of both worlds. At the time of writing the nearest 'Pub' (more of a restaurant really) is undergoing a major extension and was unfortunately closed. Our stay was slightly marred by a few little niggles such as the guttering on the front of the property having fallen of (or been taken down) and was piled up on the wall outside. The bath panel needs replacing and the void above the kitchen (visible from the lounge and especially the bedroom) is stacked with the usual things which you put in your loft space which detracts from the tastefull interior decor. The boiler is also up here and is somewhat noisey. Lots of lamps in spotlights needed replacing and some dimmer switches seemed to do nothing. The grill on the cooker was next to useless, so grilling anything is a very slow process and 2 matching wine glasses would have been nice. If the place wasn't so thoughtfully done, I'm sure the above points would not have been as noticable but as it's so stylish, they just took the edge off the whole experience. There is a great farm shop just up the road which is open 7 days a week. "

"We visited Lime Tree Cottage with our 4 children and had the most wonderful time. The children are still asking when we will return. The cottage itself is beautifully decorated. The rooms are large and the beds are very comfortable. We all slept very well. The house is well equipped. Everything we needed was provided from every kitchen utensil and pots or pans that you would need to cleaning products, linen and towels and toys and games and cups and plates for the children. The hot tub was a welcome treat after our long days out and about. Fantastic for soothing our aching legs. A delicious supper awaited us when we arrived with some lovely wine to start the holiday on. The cottage itself is well situated. Shops and supermarkets (m and s and co-op) are a short distance away. A lovely fish and chip shop, bakery and pub are just around the corner. We loved Hall Leys Park which is less than a 5 minute walk away which has a small boating lake, water park and play park for the children. 10 minutes drive away and you can go to Matlock Farm which is well worth a trip. The Heights of Abraham and Gullivers Land are also a very short drive from the cottage. We thoroughly enjoyed our week away and will definitely be booking Lime Tree Cottage again. Our heartfelt thanks to Hayley and Mark for making our stay so perfect."

" We take a holiday this time of year as an anniversary present to ourselves and always look for somewhere picturesque and relaxing. The Loft is undoubtedly one of the best places we have ever stayed. Everything is spotlessly clean, tidy and maintained to excellent standards. Photos do not do justice to the size of the living area and kitchen, this accomodation is very spacious. We were pleasantly surprised to find a bottle of wine upon arrival and also milk tea and coffee already provided. The location in the Peak District was also a deciding factor and we spent every day exploring the Peaks then returning to relax in the hot tub. Breakfast each morning included produce from the local farm shop just up the road which I can highly recommend, they also serve a cooked breakfast and other meals during the day. We really enjoyed our week here and would recommend The Loft to anyone looking for this kind of relaxing, romantic holiday. "

"The overall lodge was clean when we arrived although we had to rewash everything we used to cook or drink with as it was still dirty. We also had no oven cloves or tea towels to be able to cook or clean so we had to return home that evening to collect the basic health and safety equipment to be able to cook. The beds were made upon our arrival and they were very comfortable. The shower was ok but the plug had broken and was starting to fall into the ground which is a little off putting when you want a shower. The hot tub was fantastic and by far the best part of the lodge but the smell of chlorine was very overpowering. We also had 3 days with very little or no water. We understood it was due to a leak in the local village but we were offered no support or additional water to be able to cook or clean with. A little disappointing!"

" Wow, this open plan property is like a tardis. It looks so much bigger inside than you'd imagine. Our lovely host welcomed us with a bottle of wine, biscuits and milk which came in very useful! The decor was lovely with nice homely touches and a big sofa to crawl out on after a long walk. Best of all thought was the outdoor hot tub which was perfect for relaxing in at night, even if it was very cold! We wanted for nothing, from the big fluffy towels provided to the well-equipped kitchen and drawers full of DVDs to watch. Perfectly located with a good pub and farm shop/tearoom both in walking distance. Both were excellent. Very relaxing, very romantic and we really didn't want to leave! "
