What to do on Abersoch cottage holidays

Abersoch's beautiful coastline is a huge draw for holidaymakers and the surrounding waters are internationally recognised as great for sailing. Throughout the year there are lots of sailing events, including the Raft Race and Abersoch Triple Crown. There's plenty for amateur sailing enthusiasts to enjoy too, and if you prefer being in the water rather than just on it, why not try power boarding, paddle boarding, surfing, or windsurfing?

There are some great little beaches in the area, including Abersoch Main Beach and Porth Neigwl, which roughly translates as 'Hell's Mouth' and is a popular spot with surfers. Away from the beaches, you'll also find a selection of great restaurants and shops, in fact, everything you'd expect from a popular seaside resort. Plas Glyn y Weddw is one of the top tourist attractions in the area, a modern art gallery housed in a magnificent Gothic mansion and well worth a visit after a heavenly day spent on the beach.

Get away from it all and enjoy a rejuvenating trip to Abersoch, one of the most picturesque and tranquil parts of Wales. Make your holiday really special and choose one of the amazing holiday cottages in Abersoch, full of charm and character and ideal for family trips or romantic soirees.

What our customers say about their holidays

    • Mrs Turner - Verified booking

We have just returned from our first visit to Sunnydale, and have already booked for next year. This property is an absolute gem. Alan and Christine have given a lot of thought to make their guests' stay as comfortable as possible. There is plenty of parking space for 3 or 4 cars and the rear garden is an absolute delight. There is so much lawn space to enjoy, either playing games, just relaxing, and our two dogs to run around and play. There is a lovely patio set, a large umbrella (although we didn't use it), a charcoal BBQ, and the pizza oven which we enjoyed on our 'pizza night'. The kitchen is incredibly well stocked with crockery, glasses, cutlery, saucepans and dishes for cooking. There was even dustbin liners, foil, baking parchment and dishwasher tablets in the cupboards too. The biscuits which were left for us to to enjoy were very much appreciated. The lounge, dining room and bedrooms are very comfortable and it was lovely to see Christine's artwork on the walls. The TVs and hairdryers in the bedrooms was a nice addition. The Games Room, with all its equipment, was a wonderful addition to this property and we all had such fun using it. There was a trolley for taking our things the short walk to the beach which was so useful; and the beach hut was the 'icing on the cake' - although we understand that this is not guaranteed every year - but we hope Alan's able to work his magic to acquire it next year too! Sunnydale was an ideal property for our three generation family to enjoy quality family time together, along with the dogs - and we all look forward to returning next year.

78 Cau Du is lovely bungalow within walking distance to beautiful Abersoch for the able bodied. The house itself was spotlessly clean throughout with very comfortable beds and crisp white linen. All on one level except for one step out onto the patio at the back. Spacious, bright living room. Not a huge kitchen but serviceable and reasonably well equipped for our party of 4 adults. Large, fully enclosed flagged patio gets the sun all day and has a slight elevated position giving way to a glimpse of the sea. Local Spar supermarket within 5 minute walk. Handy but expensive. Asda and Lidl stores available in Pwllheli which is approximately 15 mins by car. Abersoch itself is a great spot to visit with beautiful beaches and scenery and a generally fab vibe to it. Good selection of bars and restaurants. Some very narrow roads worth the journey to other beaches and pretty villages. One being the National Trust beach and cafe at Porthor, just stunning. This house is situated on the Cae Du estate but don't let this put you off. It's a very peaceful and well kept area that's a 15 minute walk to the fabulous Abersoch beach.

We holiday a lot in Abersoch and this has to be our favourite holiday home yet. The owners are so in touch with what families need on a holiday and have managed to bring those home comforts for everyone to enjoy. The house was spotless, everything felt new and well maintained. It is in a great location to Abersoch centre and beaches, especially if you have a dog as it is closer to the dog friendly side of the main beach. Mini supermarket is on your doorstep and parking allocated outside the front entrance. Garden is fully enclosed and a bottle of fizz on arrival, what more could you ask for! We will be booking again, thank you!

    • Mrs Maytum - Verified booking

The cottage was not very clean (dirty floors, mold on bathroom blind, cobwebs, outside furniture dirty, etc ). The second bedroom towels were only big enough fir children and there was too few pillows. The welcome pack was poor as it was so mean and was certainly not enough for a stay of a week. There was no washing up bowl and the kitchen sink plug didn't work so we had to use the dishwasher. There were only 3 dishwasher tablets supplied. Generally poorly maintained, eg gas hob had 2 broken off knobs, doors stiff and difficult to close, key safe was a nightmare to use. Not enough comfortable seats. Totally overpriced.

21st 28th July 2023 The cottage was perfect, could not have asked for more: stocked amazingly, thorough instructions provided and super cosy spot! We had an amazing pizza night – what an incredible touch! Really made the holiday super special. Beach hut was amazing too and the games room was the star of the holiday – with an amazing pool tournament. We’ve thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will hopefully be returning. Thank you for a cosy and lovely stay P.S. Christine’s art is beautiful – a really homely and artistic / creative touch Thanks
