The county of Carmarthenshire sits in the south west of Wales and is marked by its three largest towns, Carmarthen, Llanelli and Ammanford. Known affectionately as ‘The Garden of Wales’, it’s also home to the National Botanic Garden of Wales. Carmarthenshire is home to mountains, rolling countryside and coast; with the eastern edge of the Brecon Beacons bordering it, known as the Carmarthen Fans, with the Cambrian mountains to the north. The Millennium Coastal Path runs along the south of the county and is where spring really bursts into life.

What our customers say about their holidays

    • James - Verified booking

Katy and Leon are wonderful hosts: warm, friendly and so accommodating.

Nothing is a problem for them. Our cottage was a joy and as we were there for the Christmas week every room was beautifully decorated for Christmas. Well equipped and very comfortable. We were welcomed by Leon brandishing a plate of delicious pastries for us to try! Yummy! They even left a bottle of mulled wine and Christmas Bakewell tarts on the table. But the jewel in this idyllic Welsh Crown was the little "egg house" with a variety of eggs from their own chickens. The best eggs we have had in a long time. This is a brilliant location for families with dogs and/or children. There is a brilliant totally enclosed field for dogs of all sizes, accessed down a private and safe lane. Ty Cwtch has its own totally enclosed large garden which was much enjoyed by our two tiny doggies so you can let them out and leave them to play. There are rescue horses, sheep, gorgeous nosey goats who will come to the fence for a head scratch, and those chickens who gift us those wonderful eggs. The view across the valleys is as stunning as is the peace and quiet. We are planning a return in the summer. Highly recommended.

What a gem of a place!

We spent 9 nights here with our dogs, the holiday let has everything you need inside, the owners where absolutely fantastic and excellent guides of the surrounding area, the views from the pad are to die for! They even have a fab dog walk that goes around their entire land which is an extra bonus! Owners leave you well alone but are there if you need them. It’s in a perfect location for just about everywhere you want to visit. Absolute stunning part of the country! Would highly recommend this pad for its location, comfort, and amenities.. and yes we would defo go back. Thankyou so much to Katie & Leon you both were fantastic hosts.

My son and I enjoyed our stay very much, as all was as was promised, more really, as a lovely welcome tea, coffee and biscuits tray greeted us and was just what we needed on arriving.

It was ideally placed for us to do all our planned trips. The Mumbles, Monkey Sanctuary, The National Gardens, Waterfalls all enjoyed with the picnic we took when we went. One day we went via Carmarthen (shops and late lunch) and on down to the coast to take an evening trip on Pembrokeshire Boats to see Puffins, Shearwaters, Razorbills and Guillemots. These 1000s of birds are a must for anyone staying there in May, June or July before birds finish rearing young and fly away. A holiday home I would recommend to anyone as the views are beautiful every time you leave the house.

This is a really cute little house and we had a happy two weeks in it.

We were particularly glad that the bed was long enough - too often in holiday cottages the bed is too short and has a footboard so that tall people do not fit in it - so big plus for that. It would have been useful to know that the off road reserved parking at the back of the property is actually at the bottom of the garden and that there is back access to the garden. Had we known that, we would have brought our bicycles. The communication with the owner once we were in the cottage was brilliant, so we could clarify things like what we should do with composable waste.

We found all the resources, website, emails, very helpful. The owner of the property rang us a couple of days before to ask if we had any questions, which we found very touching. When we got to the cottage they were there to welcome us, and their lovely dogs. We were made to feel comfortable and relaxed. If we needed anything we only had to ask. Jim's knowledge about the area was a great help, tell us road with views that very magical. Our holiday was wonderful even though the weather was not brilliant it didn't stop us getting out and about. Thank you
