About this property

The Cheese Loft is a charming annexe attached to the owners' home in the quiet village of White Mill, Carmarthenshire. This holiday home is ideal for a couple, a small family, or friends sharing, with exposed beams, quaint décor and a fantastic location for exploring the scenic Towy Valley. The external steps take you to the annexe, entering an open-plan living space with everything you need for a self-catering stay and a relaxing retreat. After a day of exploring, the sitting area invites you to unwind, while the kitchen area provides cooking appliances for your homemade meals and a dining table where you can plan your next adventure. From here, the king-size bedroom is a great place to rest after a long day and the single room is ideal for a little one. A bathroom with both a bath and a walk-in shower completes the interior, giving you the option of a quick freshen up after a day out or a long soak to unwind. Externally, you can enjoy your morning coffee in the fresh air, overlooking your rural surroundings, while the river-side grounds allow for a relaxing time down on ground-level. Explore the nearby National Botanical Gardens of Wales and Aberglasney Gardens, both of which are accessible by car and make for an excellent day out. The bustling centre of Carmarthen is only a few miles away and has a multitude of pubs and restaurants to choose from as well as popular and independent shopping retail options. History buffs may also want to visit the the grand ruins of Llansteffan Castle or the imposing majesty that is Kidwelly Castle and make sure to take a trip back in time on the Gwili Steam Railway, which now has a new terminus in Abergwili. Stretch your legs further with a trip to Wales' picture-perfect coast, or head inland to the stunning Brecon Beacons National Park. Choose The Cheese Loft for a comforting get-away in rural West Wales.

Carmarthen, which overlooks the Towy River, has the ruins of a Norman castle, the site of a Roman amphitheatre, a museum containing Roman relics, and a good selection of shops, pubs, and restaurants. Carmarthenshire is known as the "Garden of Wales," and its beautiful coast and countryside provide the ideal setting for a variety of activities. There are many country parks, show caves, gold mines, steam railways, and castles to visit, as well as excellent walking, cycling, birdwatching, fishing, and golf.

Everything was provided and our hosts were excellent and helpful. We could find no fault at all. Thank You Karen and Les.

The cottage was beautifully decorated with everything required and so much nature on the doorstep. We would like to thank the owners for their kindness, going over and above board to support us with our daughter’s transition to university. We will certainly be back- hopefully for the next 3 years at least.
