What our customers say about their holidays

    • Steven - Verified booking

Lovely cottage with pretty much all you need for a holiday.

The kitchen is well stocked with crockery, cutlery, utensils and cooking equipment. A compact dishwasher was very useful. The mezzanine sleeping area is spacious with good lighting and the bed us comfortable. There is not sufficient storage for clothing and there is ample room for a chest of drawers, which would be very beneficial. We resorted to storing clothing on the floor of the cupboard under the stairs. The sofa is not particularly comfortable; the leather cushion covers are slippery and not supportive. The bathroom is large and features a large walk in shower with a good flow from the head. The free-standing bath is good looking but impractical as it is effectively too long and the ends far too narrow to sit or lie comfortably in. The WiFi was nonexistent during our stay and two calls to the Agent failed to resolve that. Mobile reception was poor, making it impractical to rely upon in the absence of WiFi.

Lovely, peaceful and comfortable place to stay in tranquil surroundings.

Ideally located for cycling (on the national cycling network), both locally and to the coast. Short and easy drive from places of interest, such as Sutton Hoo and Orford Ness. Very well-equipped cottage and secluded yard/patio to sit out. Adjacent lawns and beautiful mature trees to provide shade. Felt safe to park a bicycle outdoors even when not at the cottage. Hit a heatwave so the bedroom loft was very warm but a fan was provided and it was safe and quiet to have windows open. Only slight downside was a noisier-than-usual fridge (the cottage is open plan so could hear it overnight) but think there might be an issue with the fridge door closure so will report this separately.

We absolutely loved our 2 nights at Admirals Cottage and are already planning when to return for a longer stay.

Perfect for the two of us and our little dog. Very cute and cosy cottage, nicely decorated, everything you need for a comfortable few days away. Spotlessly clean, nice surprise hamper on arrival, quiet location and a good base to visit all the local areas including Snape, Aldeburgh, Woodbridge, Southwold and Framingham with a number of dog friendly pubs within a 10-15 minute drive. If I had to pick one thing that would make it even better it would be high speed wifi just so we could stay longer and incorporate some remote working (however we understand that due to location this may not be feasible). Thanks for such a lovely stay! We look forward to staying again soon.
