About this property

Saxmundham 3.6 miles. Settled into the quaint countryside village of Friston, near Aldeburgh, Suffolk, 2 Mosses Cottage is an ideal holiday base for a couple or small family looking to explore the coast and countryside of Suffolk. Be welcomed into a beautiful cottage, where an open fire is settled into a traditional bare brick fireplace and warms the sitting room as you relax and plan the day ahead of you. The kitchen/diner creates a space for you to rustle up a storm, enjoying your meal at the dining table. 2 Mosses Cottage houses two bedrooms, a double and a small double, and there is a first floor bathroom for your refreshment. A beautiful garden accompanies this cottage, so dining alfresco is a must. Friston is a rural village with its own pub, The Friston Chequers, historic church and access to countryside walks. Within a short distance you can reach the town of Saxmundham, where there is a greater variety of eateries and convenience stores so you can stock up on essentials, as well as a local museum and countryside park. Also within easy reach of the property is the coast of Suffolk, so why not head over to the fantastic town of Aldeburgh and browse the local independent shops along the fashionable high street before enjoying walks at the pebble beach, Snape path and Haven Nature Reserve. Explore the wonders of Suffolk with a stay at 2 Mosses Cottage.

The quiet Suffolk village of Friston is ideally placed to explore the beautiful Suffolk heritage coastline, an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, including several nature reserves. Friston is also great for the attractive popular coastal towns of Aldeburgh and Southwold, with an excellent choice of pubs, restaurants, independent shops, galleries and tea rooms. Two miles from Friston is the well-known Snape Maltings Concert Hall, offering world class concerts and musical events throughout the year, and home of the annual Aldeburgh Festival held in June. The Maltings also has interesting shops and galleries as well as an rspb nature reserve with lovely riverside walks and river boat trips along the estuary. Family fun can be found at nearby Leiston Long Shop Museum with 200 years of local history, or with the animals at Easton Park Farm or Africa Alive, while history is on display at Framlingham and Orford castles or the Anglo-Saxon site of Sutton Hoo.

Heating very efficient, though a stove in the lounge would be a welcome improvement to make it cosy for guests in colder months. A non-slip mat for use in the bath when showering would be useful and a word of warning about the tightly winding staircase might be helpful, as they are a bit tricky to negotiate with a full suitcase!

Interior was stylish, modern, homely and uncluttered. The kitchen was well designed with all utensils, crockery etc anyone would need. The dining/seating area looking out to the garden and field beyond, was lovely as was the garden and lounge. Fluffy towels, very comfy beds, I could go on. The home owners have taken care with this property for us to enjoy. The parking was great too. The shower had been dismantled, I guess as the water pressure may be low but a lovely bathroom to enjoy a bath in. Great location for Snape Maltings, Orford, Aldeburgh, Saxmundham and Framlingham or further afield for a day out to Southwold.

Very peaceful location. I have no criticism at all & i will certainly be back for a future holiday, if I were to request anything for my future holiday, it would be a small foot stall, I have a slight disability & would be a little more comfortable, but it would be no trouble to bring one with me. Many thanks for sharing your beautiful home.
