    • Rob - Verified booking

      Absolutely brilliant 5 night stay!

From the moment I pulled up at the property I was greeted by the owner and she explained how to contact her should I need to and if I had any issues or queries to let her know. The hut is lovely, modern yet rustic and very well kept. The hut was in an immaculate state with plenty of equipment to cook with and glasses etc to feel at home. The log burner is brilliant and I spent most of the time with a log or two crackling away as I sat and chilled. The hot tub was a welcome addition to the property. Very secret around the back so no-one can overlook you. My only feedback would be if the cottage had a coffee/ Nespresso machine. I took my own as I enjoy coffee, and if there was a little machine in the kitchen it would have made the place 11/10 :)

Cute Shepherds hut, very clean and well equipped.

Hottub was so relaxing, a pergola or sturdy gazebo over would make it more accessible come rain or shine. We were lucky enough to get a break in the weather to enjoy it on both days of our stay. There wasn’t any dressing gowns provided for the hottub as in other hottub stays we’ve visited. However this wasn’t a problem as I’d packed beach towels. Beautiful views and a perfect location for a romantic break away. We would definitely recommend to our friends and family. We enjoyed watching the ducks and chickens however one of the chickens does give you a sneaky peck! We visited Thornton Le Dale and Scarborough. We also enjoyed a meal at the Coachman not too far away.

Fab place to stay on our “minimoon”.

The Peacock pub was closed, during the week, the Coachman wasn’t too far but food was average and the place looking a little tired. Definitely go for food at the Buck Inn in Thornton-le-Dale. Back to the Brae, it’s so quaint, well kept with a hot water outdoor shower to use before and after the hot tub. The ducks were good company and funny to watch and we were blessed with lovely weather day 2, 3 and 4. Visit Castle Howard if you’ve not been before and Dalby Forest! The only downsides were the road noise (which you soon forget) and a very tight driveway, definitely come in from the East to swing up the drive on your right, especially if you have low profiles!!!

What an amazing place! My partner and I stayed at Willow Lodge for two nights and we had the most wonderful time. Honestly, we couldn't fault it. The owner, Jo, met us on our arrival and showed us around the site, which was gorgeous and very well-kept. The private hot tub was heated for our arrival and we couldn't see any other cabin from our balcony, so it was felt very private and perfect for a romantic get away. The cabin itself was so cosy and we even had little chocolate gifts inside for when we got there. We will definitely be back in the future and would 100% recommend to anyone who loves nature and would like a peaceful and rejuvenating escape :)

Beautiful property in a beautiful location.

Was lovely to wake up and hear the ducks quacking in the morning! Lots of places nearby to visit such as York, Hull, Whitby and Scarborough with some hidden local gems along the way. Hot tub facilities were lovely and very nice and private back area. Owners welcoming and lovely. Hut itself was super clean and cute with lovely features and decor. Well stocked kitchen appliances and utensils. Only niggle would be for some larger bath towels but other than that is the perfect retreat! Also just to be aware the driveway is quite narrow, most cars will fit completely fine but may not be suitable for wide cars and 4x4s.
