Firstly, appreciate we arrived an hour early but the property was obviously ready for us arriving.
We asked the lady in the property if we could go inside as we needed the Wi-Fi for work. She called her âmanagerâ who stated we could go inside if we paid £20 to a link. We chose to sit in the car. Secondly, place wasnât very clean. Food remnants down the cushions of the âsofaâ which tips forward when you sit on it, a tv that isnât watchable due to where itâs situated, and a fridge thatâs both marked and damaged and the freezer obviously hasnât been defrosted in years - we couldnât actually put anything in it without it falling out. Next, misleading information - â1 mile to the nearest pubâ. Itâs not. Itâs 1.75-2 miles and the road doesnât have a pavement and is unlit. And as for âput the lid back on the hot tub correctly or weâll fine you £50â - what on earth are you thinking?! First time using Sykes cottages and this property and will be the last. We came home 2 days early (which we notice hasnât been acknowledged) as we were completely fed up. Either represent the property and area correctly or donât do it at all. Such a shame as Wales is beautiful but when you learn you could have stayed in a two level property right in the centre of Rhayader for £10 less PER NIGHT, it doesnât help. Wonât be back. And anyone who asks about Sykes cottages, wonât be getting a recommendation from us. You ruined our holiday. Thanks.

The holiday was grate the dogs we took had a grate time .
Buddy and Dixie... the only thing we need instructions for the tv or a better remote and the hob . and we find that the couch was to low to sit on and no space to get in and out of bed as we both had bad knees it not good for the less mobile we manage it ok , the enclose fence for the dogs was grate they wore safe that was the best .. I cant fine any pods holiday that have that â¦.. I will go back if there more room to go in and out of the bed and the couch higher to sit on there should be one pod for the less mobile the views was amazing I will recommend your pace to any one and if you every get a disable pod we will be back we had this holiday for our dogs more than us as it the fist time to took them on holiday they had a grate time . the best also we had text back from the owner if we need any thing that was a good idea I must say for our age 64 and 69 don't mater the age I will go in a pod again and the hot tub was the best I was very surprise how warm they are as well we hope to be back thank Cilla and Alan

What a charming cabin!
We needed a relaxing weekend break and we couldn't have asked for more - gorgeous views of the valleys, countryside, not to mention all the baby lambs we saw on the drive in/out! The interior of the cabin feels immensely fresh and stylish, with so much attention to detail, and a full range of cutlery and utensils which was fab! There is mobile signal and wifi which was an added bonus though still feel so disconnected from the rest of the world which is exactly what we were hoping for. The hosts were lovely to meet and very quick to answer any questions! The cabins are easy to find so long as you follow the directions correctly. So many wonderful places to explore. Our small dog and toddler were able to play at their leisure in the enclosed garden. There is a second cabin too which if travelling in bigger groups would make a great additional space, as well as an extra hot tub! The hot tub was especially relaxing and very easy to work. We will definitely be returning! You will not regret staying here, thank you so much for having us â¡

We really enjoyed our four day stay in Woodland View, and we intend to return!
All in all, the cabin was a lovely & cosy place to convalesce after a stressful few weeks of real life. While the weather was quite cold during our stay, the virtual fireplace always kept the cabin nice and toasty when we returned from our excursions. We loved the hot tub, which we used at least a couple of times every day, and roasted over the fire pit each night (charcoal & lighter fluid available from the hardware shop in Rhyader!). On the day we were due to check-in, the owners sent us a text to check on when we were planning to arrive and whether everything was OK when we eventually turned up. When it turned out that one of the cleaners had forgotten to leave toilet roll, the owners happily supplied some within a couple of hours (thanks again!). We cooked for each night of our stay except one, and the cabin had all of the pots / pans / utensils we needed for the each meal. We would recommend walking boots to make the most of the valleys & reservoirs in the near vicinity.

What a wonderful lodge, a gem of a find.
My husband and I (and our two dogs) had a very pleasant stay with fantastic views, accommodation and facilities, everything you would need and like for a relaxing break away as a couple, family or group of friends. Banty and Rachel had thought about the customer experience very well, which included a rather lovely and well thought out welcome pack, and also for the pooches. There was various books and games to play too. The accommodation was very comfortable to stay in, including the beds. We took our PS5 so we could also watch Netflix, Sky Go, listen to music, or play on the console as desired. The hot tub was very well maintained, one of the cleanest weâve been in, and was very relaxing taking in the breathtaking views. The dogs loved being able to run around in the enclosed garden and to watch and listen to the sheep in the fields and also numerous species of birds. We enjoyed it so much so that weâve booked to return again in a couple of months time.
