What our customers say about their holidays

    • Vicki - Verified booking

      What a fabulous holiday!

! Valentine's Cottage was simply beautiful, so well presented with everything you'd need for an enjoyable stay. The treats were so thoughtful, even our dog wasn't left out, and there were numerous small touches throughout the house that showed Sarah and Steve really care about their guests experience. The house itself is just over the road from the town centre and about 10 minutes walk from the waters edge, with plenty of historical places, landmarks, cafes, restaurants and shops within easy reach. Even the large supermarket was less than a mile away so it was easy to stock up on essentials for our stay. The folder of information we found at the cottage was very helpful and we made use of the recommendations of places to see and places to eat. The All Fours was lovely for a Sunday roast! All in all, we had an amazing time and are truly grateful to Sarah and Steve for enabling us to have had such a perfect holiday, which was very much needed and thoroughly enjoyed!

Valentines cottage is a stunning property with it's decor and furnishings finished to an extremely high standard.

It was spotlessly clean and I would be more than happy to live there myself! Sarah, the owner was extremely helpful responding to my emails and was also more than happy to speak to me over the telephone. There was a lovely bottle of wine and some chocs waiting for us on arrival as well as tea, coffe, sugar, milk and biscuits. We thought this was a really kind gesture. The cottage was also stocked with everyday essentials such as cleaning products, tin foil, kitchen roll, and some nice toiletries. The property is a five minute walk from the town centre and we didn't need to use our car at all for the duration of our stay. There were plenty of places to eat and drink as well as various supermarkets all close by. It was our first visit to Stratford-upon-Avon and we will definitely be returning to this lovely picturesque town. Valentines Cottage will be our first choice for self catering accommodation.

Valentines cottage was an absolute joy.

It was a difficult time for us as we had to attend a funeral during our stay but from the moment we stepped inside...it was like getting a big consoling cuddle.Every care had been taken to make Valentines welcoming and it was full of festive cheer and festive smells from the pot poured. The Christmas tree was up and all the decorations.Even the doggie basket was festive! There were chocs and wine for us and treats for the doggies too. Most of all the cleanliness was exceptional and this was very reassuring as my husband has a compromised immune system. It was so warm, comfortable and cosy throughout.Just lovely.Plenty of croc, glasses and equipment in the kitchen too which although should be a given isn't always the case.Needless to say apart from the comfort and warmth of the cottage the location of Valentines is great. We parked the car and didn't use it again until we left.Top marks.Thank you.

      Valentines cottage was fabulous!

It was such a lovely relaxing place to stay. Beautifully decorated, a home from home. Very well thought out from kitchen equipment, reading books, games for children, a lovely welcoming area for the dog (bed and bowls!). Immaculately clean and fresh, lovely big fluffy towels provided too! Another big plus is how close to the town and main attractions it was, hadn’t realised it was literally 2minutes walk! Great to not need the car, using the permit provided we could leave it outside the property during our stay. We also found the canal was easy to access close to the property for an alternative walk to and from town. Excellent communication from the owner, checked in with us before, during and after our stay to make sure we were ok and had everything we needed. Would highly recommend staying here.

We loved our stay at Valentine Cottage.

The house felt like a real home from home, we were able to relax in comfortable surroundings and despite the cold temperatures outside we were toasty warm. We enjoyed a variety of welcome treats and our host was in touch by text offering support if we needed anything. The location was perfect for our Christmas shopping weekend in late November, a short stroll from the cottage to both the Independent and High Street stores in Stratford itself and the Maybird Retail Park with its larger stores. We left the car at home walked everywhere. Stratford is a lovely town, the house is in a great location, is well equipped and included a parking permit, the host is on hand if we needed anything (which we didn't). We definitely plan on returning.
