What our customers say about their holidays

    • Sarah - Verified booking

The property was in a beautiful location- perfect for walking in the stunning national park with lots of trails to follow.

The house comfortable and modern with everything we needed and the dishwasher was a welcome addition. There were only two of us but plenty of space for a family of 4. The bedding and towels were very clean and it smelled really fresh as you walked in. The bed was enormous and so comfy- we slept like a log! 4/5 stars as it wasn’t perfect if I’m being picky- there were no coat hooks; the oven was coming out as we opened the door; the shower leaked which left a patch of damp; and some of the bathroom fixings were wobbly. Having said that, those really are niggles- the parking was great, staff were really friendly; the bed was enormous with a really comfy mattress; stunning views and all the facilities you need; beautifully clean towels and bedding; lovely clean kitchen and cooking facilities; a lovely, warm and cosy place; and the restaurant right on your doorstep. Beautiful place and would happily return and will recommend to family and friends.

Saltwater Cottage provided a relaxing holiday because it’s comfortable, very well equipped and situated in a convenient location. There is nothing negative to say about it. We would definitely stay there again and recommend it to others. The location and availability because we left booking a bit late! We booked Saltwater Cottage, even though there were no photos available and it didn’t have a star rating, because Coquet Cottages only offer excellent accommodation. Everything we needed was there in the cottage so our holiday began as soon as we walked through the door. We liked everything about it! The garage and off road parking are convenient and the patio area and garden are lovely. The TV is great! We were delighted by the toiletries provided and items in the kitchen that can easily be forgotten to bring. The scones were delicious too! Thank you- lovely accommodation.

We were last here in Saltwater Cottage in October 2022 and this holiday has been just as enjoyable. The forecast for the week was terrible but luckily it was wrong and we’ve had lots of bright sunshine. The walk from Boulmer to Craster is stunning – beautiful bays and plenty of sea birds. The Cottage Inn at Dunstan has excellent food (at very reasonable prices). The Ship Inn has well kept bar. Elan continues to make delicious pizzas. The fish and chip van at Beadnell is a good stopping point (fri-sun) as is The Lazy Cow (farm) selling proper coffee and homemade cakes. High (or Low) Newton to Embleton is a good beach walk – then on to Dunstanburgh and Craster for a seafood lunch at the pub. We hope to be back soon!

We have had the most amazing two weeks in this beautiful perfectly placed cottage. We really don’t want to go home! We’ve loved exploring Holy Island – what a magical place! And the stunning fairy-tale castle at Bamburgh with its white beaches – wow! Ross Sands was a very special beach – so near you yet the beach was deserted. Park at Ross Farm and walk approximately a mile across the farmland, the path is clearly marked to this incredible place. Lots of nesting protected birds so keep to the left of the beach. It’s our first time visiting Northumberland and we absolutely love it! Thank you Jane and Jon for letting us share your special place, we will be back!

    • Beverley Cousins - Verified booking

Lovely house! The location is great and the walking distance to Seahouses and the beach is excellent. This was our first experience booking with Coquet Cottages and we can honestly say, we have never had such brilliant communication with a holiday company. From the time we booked, to the telephone call saying the property was ready, to the text asking if everything was ok and of course, the welcome basket. We have never had such a thoughtful welcome basket. The flowers were probably the nicest thing as it was expected. But all the contents were excellent and very much appreciated. The house itself was great. Thank you!
