What our customers say about their holidays

    • Dawn - Verified booking

Lovely place, perfect for us, location spot on.

Our arrival had been miss placed, so we had to leave and come back later as we couldn't get in and couldn't reach anyone via phone. Lovely owner apologised. I would suggest that the listing on the website needs updated, as shows a bath in the property. It's been replaced with a walk in shower, which whilst a very good shower, it wasn't ideal for using with my youngest with a disability. Fully enclosed garden area very useful should we return with our dog. 2 resident dogs on the farm gorgeous! No instructions regarding rubbish, or used towels and bedding, so we hope we left everything in an acceptable way. One thing we noted was how concealed the entrance to the farm is, even the 'hay for sale' sign was only visible when 'ontop' of the turning......just a thought if owners wanted to increase visibility for sales. Overall, a lovely property, friendly owners and dogs, property warm and inviting. Thank you, we will return.

The garden was particularly helpful with the dogs.

The owners were very accommodating - they were perfectly happy for us to alter the week we were staying, when my husband's work retracted permission for his original annual leave. There was a stair gate permanently in for the downstairs, which was helpful as it allowed my 2 year old free movement in the ground floor area. The upstairs does have sloping roof areas in a few of the bedrooms, which is difficult if you're tall. There is also a limited amount of cupboard space and no full length wardrobe space (though there is half length). The downstairs bedroom was very big and spacious and has a number of wardrobes, so we hung everything full length of everyone's there. Biscuits were left, which was a nice touch and a few other essentials.

The Stables is an ideal property both for families and dog owners alike.

The property is very spacious with excellent facilities and represents excellent value for money. The property is ideally situated for visiting areas of Shropshire, Worcestershire and Herefordshire and is based between Craven Arms and Ludlow on a farm bordering the A49 road. The owner lives on site and is pleasant and helpful without being overbearing. The property has an enclosed garden and is ideal for dogs. The local supermarket is 2 miles away and the local public house, The Appletree, is short distance away. A warm and friendly welcome awaits from the landlord Andy, here you can sample some fine local ales and ciders and order hearty food prepared by his wife Jill. A thoroughly enjoyable, relaxing stay.

Great house with more space than you could need, lovely big rooms, well equipped kitchen, clean and in good order throughout.

Comfy bed ,plenty of storage and amazingly quiet through the night. Slept like logs. Spacious, homely lounge with Freesat TV , DVDs etc. Modern bathroom with walk-in shower. Large enclosed lawned garden, safe for dogs, barbecue and picnic table adjacent. Great location, with farmland & woodland walks from the doorstep, Stokesay Castle 30 minute walk...Craven Arms rail station 2 miles. Ironbridge / Bridgnorth 30 min drive. Ludlow 10 min. Nice pub, Appletree at Onibury a walkable distance. Craven arms a 2 minute drive away, for great Fish & chips, Indian or Chinese takeaway, Tuffins supermarket excellent place. Friendly and welcoming owners nearby. Would love to return in the future, no problem.

This is a beautiful house in the most wonderful location. The bedrooms and bathrooms are well appointed and cared for, the garden faces the sun and setting sun and the views are amazing. If you like walking there's so much to explore and some great walks straight from the house. The aga kept the house cosy and the fire was made up ready to light when we got back. There was ample hot water and good showers. If there was one thing I would change it is the lack of mugs and plates - there was enough for one each but, for example, we had to wash bowls from our starter to have bowls for our pudding. I think, in an otherwise very well equipped house, there should be enough for two settings.
