"Lovely area to stay in, perfect for visiting so many interesting & beautiful places. Cottage is quaint & as expected, with a homely feel. Although the small garden is enclosed, it would suit smaller dogs as the fences are only waist height & there's a pile of rubble, mud & wood alongside of one part, meaning it was a constant worry for us that our dog might decide to go off investigating in the road only 10 yards away. Be aware if you need to keep in contact with the outside world that the only mobile network that gets ANY signal in a 5-10 mile radius is Orange & as there is no landline/internet in the house, be prepared to cross the road over to the old cobwebbed phone box with a bucket load of change (60p to connect a call these days)! The house is comfortable for 6 to sleep & lounge with a lovely burner in the sitting room & a TV/DVD player with a selection of DVD's for all tastes. Sadly the kitchen layout makes it impossible to open the oven door if the dining table is in use. We seated 4 at the table & were confused how the other 2 chairs (kept in hallway) would fit at the table. The table in the garden only has 4 chairs also, so not sure how 6 people would eat together? Equally baffled as to why in an area of outside pursuits & beautiful scenery there would be no washing machine in the house, surely 6 people would need to do some laundry if staying for a week, especially in wet weather with mud on their gear from all the dog walking etc. It transpired that a dishwasher had been installed where you might expect the washing machine to be!!If planning on home delivery shopping (we stayed for a week & the nearest 'supermarket' wasn't the best in all honesty, so glad we ordered in for arrival) give them a copy of the directions to the house from your confirmation email as Sat Nav takes you away from the cottage & up a muddy steep track. We would stay in this cottage again as the location was perfect for all we wanted to do, but we would take more clothes & plenty of loose change. "

"Clean. Accommodation flexible (lots of bedrooms). However, our double bedroom did not have a wardrobe! Kitchen well equipped and sufficient size for our large (12) group. Lounge dreadful, massive space, lighting appalling. The lounge was chilly during the day and freezing in the evening (rainy June). The central-heating is totally inadequate in this room. There is a log burning "feature fire" which has seen better days, which guests have to light, it is useless at heating such an enormous space. Besides freezing, everybody spending the evening in there comes out reeking of smoke! We were under the impression that this property was suitable for people with mobility issues, it is not. There are steps into the property and steps between the kitchen and the lounge. The access road got very boggy and rutted due to the torrential rain when we were there. So, anyone with a small or low car may want to be aware of this."

"I worry that in winter it would be very damp. The stairs are very steep from the bedrooms to the loo and a word about this may be useful on the website for any who are not overly agile or who do not like heights. The kitchen was extremely well equipped but as others noted in the comments book, I do not think it would be suitable to sit more than four and at a squeeze at a table located inside the old chimney place.I also worried a little about security as the door is single paned half-glassed and both chubb and top lock would be easily accessed if the window was broken. The cottage would benefit from an update in furnishings especially the bath (plumbing), which filled very, very slowly.Ample hot water and generally very comfortable and quiet. Wearing slippers there was a very slippery bit as you entered the kitchen from the hall but a relocation of the nonslip bathmat solved this safety issue"

"Stayed at this cottage for a few days in February/March to get away from the daily house/work/house routine and it was just great, you don’t’ even have mobile reception – added bonus. We were greeted by the owner, who presented us with milk and eggs in the fridge (they were a lifesaver), and were immediately left to our own devices since he told us that we could walk pretty much everywhere. The cottage location, at the end of a narrow lane and a dirt road could not have been better. Being surrounded by forest, river and sheep is one of the most tranquil settings you’ll ever find, with plenty of good local walk routes. Inside, it has a very “home” like felling, with spacious rooms, bathroom and mezzanine with Velux windows, feather duvet, all the crockery and cutlery utensils that you’ll need for self-catering with the wood burning stove adding a special touch."

"Would not hesitate to recommend to anyone wanting a clean, well equipped property in a great location. Thoughtful little touches made our stay a perfect one. So spacious too so if you are a family of 7 you do not get on top of each other which is very important! Beautiful rooms, beautiful view, lovely garden space. I drink prosecco and they actually had the glasses... I was a very happy woman! The world of self catering would be a much better place if other owners took a lesson or two from Yarnchester Barns. The little town of Much Wenlock is really pretty and interesting and has pubs and cafes, obviously all the ironbridge attractions on the doorstep, we went into Ludlow which is about half an hour hour and is beautiful. Loads of National Trust places, towns etc, etc so much to do and see within 10-20 mins. Thank you for a great break."
