"Ok, so I was looking for a cottage that ticked quite a few boxes. It needed to have all the following: * An open fire * Quiet Location * wifi * pet friendly without those pet smells * clean * Not too far from my home Chasewood Farm Cottage ticked all of these boxes and more. I booked the cottage as a surprise for my husbands birthday. He is absolutely obsessed with open fires so this was perfect! I knew the area so it was easy to find but the instructions were very good. It is in an extremely quiet area and the wildlife sounds were all you could hear. When we arrived it was very dark but we had no trouble getting in the property with the instructions that I was given. When we went into the lounge it was spot on and so cosy. During our stay we did not need to use the second lounge with TV as we just sat watching the fire! The three bedrooms are all a good size and the views are spectacular! The bedrooms are also nice and warm and bedding is spotless. There are two showers and the hot water was always readily available. We took our two teenagers and although the wifi was quite slow, they never complained and were happy to just sit and chat in front of the fire! (they are normally glued to Xbox!!). I chose this particular cottage because it was close to my home and as it was my husbands birthday we wanted to be near the Link Centre in Swindon to watch the wildcats! BUT regardless, this cottage was perfect and we are already looking to return. We had the added bonus of seeing a female woodpecker, pheasants, Red Kites and heard frogs!! There was only one downside to our stay and that is, it cost me a fortune in logs!! I think I took several bags with me and also bought some from the cottage owner! But this was the reason for my booking and husband had a fab birthday albeit he has now come home sulking! Thank you"

"Despite being well presented and a good location, why did we leave halfway through the week? 1) Dispute over access time. Our documents said 3pm but we were told that it would not allowed access until 4pm.2) Designated parking is under a tree inhabited by most of the world’s magpies. Our car literally needed to be washed daily before we could go out. The owner said that this is why she had left cleaning materials to wash the car. So we moved it in front of the property following the action our neighbour. This led to the complaint that our car would block access to emergency vehicles although this was apparently not so for the neighbour’s car. 3) The neighbour appeared to believe that her duty was to monitor our activities and would stand outside even very late evening and watch us, making us very uncomfortable. This was supposed to be a holiday but we became so stressed that this 80 year old veteran and his wife packed their car on the Tuesday evening and returned home preferring to write off 50% of their costs."

"Splendid location, but it didn't work that well for us. The website told us that tall people may have a bit of trouble with the stairs. Well, we were forewarned then, I am 6.4 (1.92 meter). But it was not only the stairs. The only place were I could stand comfortably was in the living. The Village is beautiful, the cottage looks very pretty from the outside, but we were also a bit disappointed with the furniture and the cooking utensils. All done on the cheap. Nevertheless we were very cordially welcomed by a nice lady and the location is very suitable for taking day trips in different directions, which we did. The bed was far too small for me to sleep comfortable. All in all, that is why we decided not to stay here again."

"We have had the most wonderfully peaceful and restful few days in this idyllic spot. Just what we needed! Stable Cottage is delightful with lovely colours and decoration and all our needs catered for. Thank you Peter for looking after us so well and making us so welcome. We enjoyed a meal in the Deli in Pewsey on our first evening and next day lunch in the National Trust café at Avebury - a very interesting place to visit. We also very much enjoyed Marlborough and an excellent meal at The Silks on the Downs. So sorry we have to leave so soon, but we hope to be back. JDF, Surrey"

"Chasewoods Farm Cottage was absolutely beautiful - I could have moved in!! It has been really thoughtfully and tastefully decorated and planned. We spent a family girls weekend away there so the accommodation suited us well. Loved the family room with the separate snug tv lounge. The views are stunning and it was very very peaceful (even in spite of the fact we were there for one of the 2 annual days permitted shooting nearby!!). Good walks from the door, Marlborough within easy reach and plenty of parking too. Highly recommended."
