We went for 3 nights We went for 3 nights.
A family of 10 adults and 6 children. Lovely home size wise perfect. Location was easy enough to find. Contact from the owner was really good all info sent across early so we knew what was going on and open communication was great via WhatsApp. The issues we had were: 1: cold water showers!!!!! Yep 3 out of 16 had hot showers each day and the rest had cold. There was one electric shower in the house which was really poor considering there were two other bathrooms. 2. When we arrived the windows had been left open and this meant the carpets were wet with rain. 3. The front lounge carpets really do smell bad and itâs very obvious. They could really do with a wash or shake n vac. The rest of the house inc the bedrooms were all fine. 4. One 4 slice toasterâ¦. Breakfast time was a nightmare really could do with two toasters. 5. Having to bring ALL your own essentials as you only get half a toilet roll and minimal hand soap in each bathroom. Really for the amount this property charges that was a basic. 6. Bringing all your own towels. We paid close the £4,000 for this booking and booked early to avoid disappointment but the price for the property was £3,000 ish for 7 Nights the week after we left which was super disappointing to see. But to pay that money and the owners canât even put 20 towels together is a real shame. 7. Thinking of having a BBQ? Donât it was left filthy and no chance we would cook on that. 8. The cleaners arenât great lots of house spiders and bugs in the corners. These of course arenât even big things that honestly canât be fixed for a much better experience. To be told explicitly on booking too no early check in or late departure not available is a shame. We were like the home alone crew in the morning trying to be out for 10am. Overall a first time in a cottage and disappointed to be honest and no discount or reimbursement for the poor shower situation. It was raised with the owner and he said there is one electric shower installed the week before in the main bathroom so theyâre clearly aware itâs an issue and thereâs info about the tank but itâs not adding up on any of the days we were there it seems as though they have a control to switch the hot water off. To then be told the water tap was left on when no one was home is a poor excuse.

We found Tyn Morfa to be a very nice private, spacious property in a lovely secluded setting and really enjoyed our stay.
Lovely views out of every window - can see the sea from the lounge. Everything we needed in the lounge/kitchen/ diner - very comfy seating, efficient electric heating , boiling hot water, great TV and great to have the large entrance porch to hang coats and take off shoes. The bedroom is very spacious with lots of storage and a large double bed. Just a little niggle with the bed for us - it probably wouldn't be an issue for the majority of visitors - but we found it very low to the ground. My husband has a problem with his mobility and found it very difficult to get up from the bed without my help. Lovely garden and lots of outside space - however, it is described as 'fully enclosed' which is a little misleading. Only partly fenced and with a very deep muddy ditch separating the rest of the garden from neighbouring fields. Not an issue if you stay without dogs. We had to keep ours on lead at all times to safeguard against falling into the ditch and brambles. This wouldn't stop us returning to Tyn Morfa but it would be without dogs. There are lots of good walks close by and the house is well positioned for accessibility to nearby villages and Phwelli. Great little cafe/shop just 2 minutes walk away for lovely food, essentials and warm and friendly service.Happy to recommend Tyn Morfa to anyone wanting a quiet break away.

Thank you to the host for the bottle of wine on arrival and for a detailed handbook.
Cottage was delightful and just as you saw in the photos. Had everything you needed and lost of storage in the bedroom and kitchen. Enjoyed having a fire each evening, getting wood etc from Pit Stop Garage in Morfa Nefyn. Lovely big shower. Plenty of hot water. Take extra towels if you want more than a bath and hand towel. Our two dogs loved the big garden. Despite the ditches on two sides and other comments read on reviews, I was not concerned about them being out there off lead and did not go close to them. Overall it is a good secure garden. Fab 8 min walk to a local, quiet beach. Have made a couple of suggestions to the owner re the bathroom and bedroom areas which has been responded to. Still no guest book which was requested last year by another guest/review, but have re-mentioned. Always nice to read previous visitors comments and suggestions of places to go and eat and then leave your own. Visited in Feb, so very quiet at this time. I think the other houses around TM are rentals too but were unoccupied hence quiet,. Could be different in warmer months. Heads up for anyone wanting a takeaway from Nefyn. They seem to close for the winter period. Shame about that curry we were so looking forward to haha! Would definitely revisit. Generally liked the place.

Lovely, large sized family house with great equipment for children.
Trampoline and hot tub provided hours of fun. The kitchen was well stocked including childrenâs cutlery and crockery. A small supply of tea, coffee and sugar would have been great and maybe a bag of wood for the fire. Also the lack of towels was a big let down for us. The childrenâs bedroom was great and overall comfortable enough but I think the house could do with a bit of tlc, the walls were really quite dirty and there is damp around most of the windows. The window around the attic room had toilet roll stuck in between the seal, I assume to prevent a draft. The technology in the house sounded great but it was actually a bit annoying with the lights coming on automatically, meant you ended up waking other members of the household when going to the toilet and lights were on unnecessarily. There was also quite a strong smell of damp in the living room, possibly from the ac unit. The tiles in the main bathroom need a good scrub as theyâre covered in mold around the shower. The carpets are quite grubby. Itâs a lovely sized house but could really do with a spruce up and a deep clean. I think for price paid it requires an extra pizazz.

A very comfortable and enjoyable stay at Nant Bach, and I would be very happy to return.
The owners were very welcoming and helpful, and the welcome goodies were much appreciated. This lovely old cottage is set in the owners' extensive and beautiful grounds. The views all around are lovely, and the plot is very private although only a short distance from Nefyn and the coast, and is also easy to find. The only downside to my holiday was the atrocious weather which I did not expect at the end of April/early May.I only had two decent days, and sunshine on only one day- the rest of the time there were leaden skies, rain and wind.I am used to booking holidays well ahead of time, but having had two cottage holidays already this year with disappointing weather, I am now changing tack and will now be a last minute booker when I know the weather will be acceptable. However,Nant Bach is an ideal cottage to stay in whatever the weather. The two sofas are superbly comfortable, and the cottage is warm. The very calming birdsong all around is a treat.Highly recommended if, like me, your choice of holiday cottage is an old, beamed property with stone walls, wooden stable doors, a large cast iron roll top bath, and a spacious new shower. Many Thanks.
