"We arrived at the cow shed and were met with a clean, well-equipped studio cottage which we noticed the pictures online do not adequately do justice to. We found the decor in the Cow Shed to be modern but with a vintage feel to it, keeping it's traditional look. The inside of the cottage contained many lovely little touches including complimentary sweets/prosecco/biscuits/tea/coffee/milk/dvds and even fresh eggs from the owner's hens. The owner Tony was a great help, both informative and very friendly, anything we needed he was quick to assist with (coal for bbq, ironing board, matches and cooking oil). The hot tub was very clean and romantic with the beautiful surroundings of the Peak District. Lots of walks and sights to see nearby. The bed was a beautiful vintage feature which was extremely comfortable. There was lots of storage space for clothes etc.The only negatives of our stay would be a large amount of wasps nearby (which we understand couldn't be helped but should be looked into incase of nests) and lastly we felt the studio cottage was really hot even though we had turned off any heating, which we later discovered from the owner himself there was underfloor heating set at a temperature of 20 degrees. We felt this was set too high.Overall we had a fantastic, welcoming experience that we will cherish and will certainly be returning and recommending to all relatives and friends!! Thank you for having us and allowing us to celebrate a fantastic 21st & 22nd birthday all in one :)"

"We visited Lime Tree Cottage with our 4 children and had the most wonderful time. The children are still asking when we will return. The cottage itself is beautifully decorated. The rooms are large and the beds are very comfortable. We all slept very well. The house is well equipped. Everything we needed was provided from every kitchen utensil and pots or pans that you would need to cleaning products, linen and towels and toys and games and cups and plates for the children. The hot tub was a welcome treat after our long days out and about. Fantastic for soothing our aching legs. A delicious supper awaited us when we arrived with some lovely wine to start the holiday on. The cottage itself is well situated. Shops and supermarkets (m and s and co-op) are a short distance away. A lovely fish and chip shop, bakery and pub are just around the corner. We loved Hall Leys Park which is less than a 5 minute walk away which has a small boating lake, water park and play park for the children. 10 minutes drive away and you can go to Matlock Farm which is well worth a trip. The Heights of Abraham and Gullivers Land are also a very short drive from the cottage. We thoroughly enjoyed our week away and will definitely be booking Lime Tree Cottage again. Our heartfelt thanks to Hayley and Mark for making our stay so perfect."

"Absolutely loved this little gem. Beautifully clean and well equiped, I loved the quirkyness of the decor and the use of antique furniture. Only slightly marked down the comfort and equipment because the twin beds are a bit on the small side, fine for little children but my 15 year old son found it a bit too short, didnt stop him sleeping though! The hot tub was fantastic, so private and the view was amazing. Again it was beautifully clean. The pool and sauna was a great facility, we didnt book any time slots as my husband used it at 7.30 am and was the only one up, but the system seemed to work well. The games room too is good, its a little bit small, but all the equipment it well maintained, and the fact that you have a set of all the cues/balls/bats needed in your cottage means you always know you will be able to play. Bakewell nearby is a lovely town, and Chatsworth house is well worth a visit. Good Chinese and Indian takeaways in Darley Dale too. Loved the fact that our dog was welcome too.Would definitely visit again. Loved it"

"Ticked all our boxes. Bedrooms all had nice en suites and beds were very comfortable. Kitchen was well equipped with two fridges and a big range cooker with induction hob. The pans were heavy but there were a good variety of sizes. There was no big teapot but plenty of other crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils. One of our fridges wasn't getting cold which was speedily sorted by the staff at The Mill, opposite, who were also very friendly and helpful when we made use of their washing machine. There were only ten of us so we all fitted comfortably round the big dining table in the kitchen, but more would have been a bit of a squeeze. There is no downstairs loo, so guests with rooms on the upper floors often had to be "permitted" to use one of the ground floor en suites. Lots of lovely walks start close by, so no need to drive."

"My husband and I came here on our mini-moon. Absolutely charming place. Fantastic setting. Beautiful little studio apartment, but well equipped with everything you could need. One of the best features for me is that the owners had thought of all of those 'finishing' touches that make a place feel warm and cosy. From the curtains and blinds, the toiletries in the bathroom and the chocolate just about everywhere we looked! (much appreciated btw haha) Hot tub was great. Just made our stay even more perfect. We're already wanting to book again but for the summer time! The only thing I would say is to take a torch I you're planning on visiting the pubs in the village after dark. The track is pitch black and a bit wobbly in places :-)"
