"It took us 1h and 10mn to get into the property since the owner, presently in Canada, had made a mistake in the code to open the keysafe. Even the caretaker didn't have the right code! The major problem was the lack of maintenance: a missing door knob meant that someone was locked in bedroom1 until the door was opened from outside, bedroom2 door wouldn't close. There are no usable wardrobe other than the one in bedroom1. The cupboards in the hall are full. In all bedrooms + lounge, there's a blatant lack of working lights. None allowing you to read in comfort! In the uptairs bedroom, no mirror or working light in the bathroom. Very restricted headroom that should be mentioned in the details. A door/curtain is a must between the bathroom and the bedroom. There wasn't a single torch or candle when we had a power cut at night. Moreover, when the alarm went off during the power cut, it took the caretaker over half an hour to find us the right code to switch it off! He obviously hadn't been trusted with this code either! He was no longer available in the middle of the night (understandably) when the alarm went off again, and didn't respond to the code, leaving us again in a nightmarish racket that lasted... until it went off , we aren't sure how!! Why can't the owners trust somebody with their codes? The house could be good but we felt very let down and not very comfortable at the best of times, since the very noisy heating system didn't seem to reach the lounge and upstairs bedroom at all."

"My wife and I loved it as it was an area I grew up in 30+ years ago, beautiful part of the country. Teenage daughter thought the cottage was haunted so spoilt her week of sleep :) and the spiders .... well there were quite a few! :)The lounge\dining area wasn't very clean, sand/mud/dust on the floor and dog hair everywhere, blankets on the sofas and chairs in particular and the beds weren't made up either as linen was still wet, so after a 8 hour journey could have done without hoovering through and making the beds up. The sofa in particular is really dirty, you can't see it until you sit on it in light/white clothing and the dirt transfers onto your clothes, my wife baby wiped the chair and the muck that came off .... not great but other than that.. super! The kitchen is fab everything and anything you need in there and the view from the cottage is superb. Only thing i would say is the the 'shower over the bath' reads as though it is a shower in the bath, like most folk have in there bathrooms, not a shower head that sits on the taps and you have to hold to have a shower/rinse off! That was a bit of a pain having to sit in the bath to have a shower! :)"

"Great area for exploring the sandy beaches of SW Wales. The staff at the hotel (who run the cottage) are very friendly. The cottage advert left us assuming the swimming pool was at the cottages - it isn't - it's over half a mile away down a lane I thought was unsafe to walk along due to it being so narrow and having no footpath. Once there the pool is lovely. In today's connected world I would have expected wifi and mobile connectivity as a must have, especially considering the overall price of the rental. A minor issue was the crockery and cutlery - looks like mismatched leftovers from the hotel. Again with the price being paid, I would have expected a nice matching set for the number of guests. There was a note left on the window sill telling us about the welcome nibble and tipple, nice touch except there was no tipple, only a pack of welshcakes. What could have been a nice touch backfired. The settees has seen better days and ought to b replaced. Overall it's a nice cottage and these minor issues will not stop me returning."

"The owner of the cottage is a really lovely lady, but the cottage, although close to a beach, is unusually situated for a holiday cottage, it looks straight on a pair of double garages which would generally be termed eyesores. The view out the back was breathtaking for the wrong reasons. The property gets good sunshine from the front, but is mid terrace and the back has a high cliff going up behind it (wooded), so a bit short on sunlight. There is no back garden, just a very slippery raised decking area and views of concrete/ washing line/ slabs/ domestic oil stores. The real issue for this property is that it is wrongly priced, which means that people feel disgruntled as soon as they arrive. We gave up on trying to use the TV !! The bedrooms were very nice. A very useful property if you want to be able to walk to a quiet beach in 2 minutes and still be able to park. "

"We had a thoroughly enjoyable and relaxing stay at the Coach House, and the slate floors and large garden made it perfect for our young dog's first holiday, and the views from the garden are excellent. The cottage was generally well equipped, although it lacked one or two very minor items (a potato peeler, or a knife suitable for peeling spuds would have been helpful). Llansteffan is a lovely little village, with a stunning castle and a beach which goes on for miles when the tide is out. Dogs are banned from a small stretch during the summer months, but they have more than enough space to run around. Fish and chips from Florries is a must! The cottage is well located for exploring Carmarthenshire and on into Pembrokeshire. You do need to drive pretty much everywhere, but we found journey times shorter than we had anticipated."
