About this property

The property is one of three original stone barns forming a quadrangle and traditional farmyard situated on the outskirts of Ferryside. Its coastal location makes it the perfect retreat for couples and small families. The property is on the estuary of the River Towy, one of the longest rivers in Wales. It is home to a village shop, cafe, pub and yacht club and has a train station with regular services running to Carmarthen (10 miles), Swansea (24 miles) and into Pembrokeshire. Ferryside Beach is perfect for nature lovers and for family days out, building sandcastles, and enjoying stunning views across the estuary to Llansteffan with its atmospheric hilltop castle in the distance. This spacious cottage is cosy and well equipped and has been finished to a very high standard, enjoying unobstructed estuary views. Overlooking the famous marshlands, Morfa Uchaf, a Site of Special Scientific Interest and there are endless opportunities for enjoying the extensive local wildlife and watching the red kites and buzzard circling overhead. Enter the hallway through to the cosy lounge with wood burner and Smart TV where you can relax and snuggle up to watch a film. The galley style kitchen and dining area is well equipped with everything that you need to enjoy a meal with friends and family. There is a small level change step to the bedrooms, one with a king size sleigh bed and TV with en suite shower room, the other a twin bedroom. A family bathroom with a slipper bath and shower cubicle completes the accommodation. Outside, a peaceful south facing enclosed patio area providing a lovely spot to sit for a morning coffee. The patio leads to a large lawned garden and there is a small wooden bridge over the babbling brook. A private hot tub gives the opportunity to relax in after a busy day.
