About this property

Nestled within the centre of Laugharne amongst neighbouring properties, is this delightful property, Mews Cottage. With views of Laugharne Castle, this inviting retreat welcomes families looking to relax in beauty of Carmarthenshire. After a day of rambling, look forward to kicking back in the lounge, relaxing on the plush corner sofa and flicking through the Smart TV. Allow the house chef to get acquainted in the kitchen, fitted with a host of appliances including an electric oven and hob, microwave and fridge/freezer, whilst there is also a delightful dining area. Open the patio doors and access the enclosed garden, ideal for an evening beverage. Whisk away upstairs and run yourself a hot shower before choosing between a sumptuous king-size or twin to rest. Both bedrooms are neatly presented and feature ample storage space for your personal items. Laugharne offers a superb holiday destination with fabulous coastal walks, historic buildings and great cafes, pubs and restaurants, enabling you to while away many a pleasant hour. Outdoor enthusiasts will be happy to know that the beautiful Pembrokeshire National Park is easily accessible, home to little coves and villages such as Saundersfoot, Wisemans Bridge and the fantastic Pendine Sands. Those seeking a bit of adventure can head out to one of the five adventure/theme parks in the area, all within half an hours drive, including Heatherton World of Activities or Oakwood Theme Park. For a relaxing afternoon out, Pembrey Country Park is perfect for walks with miles of sandy beach, mini train rides or the slightly more unusual activity of all-weather tobogganing. However you choose to spend your time, the charm of Mews Cottage will be awaiting your return.

The poet Dylan Thomas is famously associated with the town of Laugharne, which boasts a grand castle perched on a low ridge overlooking the expansive Taf River Estuary. A trip to his Boat House and the writing shed, where he produced the majority of his works, is a great experience. Beautiful walks in and around the castle can be followed by cream teas in adorable little tea restaurants, a drink at the neighbourhood pub, or shopping in the gift stores and mini market. These treks offer spectacular views of the estuary. Many land speed records have been infamously broken on the seven-mile stretch of gorgeous, flat sand at Pendine, a nearby sandy beach. A little further away are the seaside towns of Tenby and Saundersfoot. This is the ideal location for the entire family, at any time of the year, with fantastic walks in all directions, fun days out at castles, mills, and craft centres abounding. We had an amazing stay and will definitely be returning.

Couldnt fault the place. Will come back in the near future. Recommend Dexters at Browns to eat as food was excellent.

A dripping tap was resolved promptly. A set of drawers would be useful in the small room off the twin bedroom, especially if older children or adults were using that room. The property summary online, states that there is "allocated parking for 1 car to the side of the property". This suggests it is adjacent to the property and although the location wasn't a problem for us, it might be for some people, eg,if it was bad weather when unloading/loading luggage, especially if arriving in the evening as there is no lighting on the path.
