Mrs Hulse - verified booking
"We were early on arrival and the lady who showed us to our lodge was embarrassed that the dishwasher hadn't been emptied, I said please don't worry about it. That aside, the bbq was full of ash & oven the bottom wasn't cleaned. Under the rug in the lounge was filthy as we removed it and put it in the hall cupboard because we didn't want dog hair entangled in it. The dining room chairs had greasy handprints on them. The small bedroom TV didn't work. Two of our party returned home on the Wednesday so I stripped beds to find shoddy bedding, ripped and stained mattresses also the pillows and cushions are well worn. Pans are dirty and needed a good clean before we could use them also the cheese grater is broken. Behind the bathroom door on the floor was dirty with dust and flies. Laminat peeling from the cupboard front in the kitchen and middle bedroom drawers. We are not fussy people but this was not at all what we expected and I know that I have left the lodge In a better state of cleanliness than what we found it to be in. The owners need to be informed that they need to update certain items if they they do not know of the wear and tear, and the cleaners need to be more thorough."

"We really enjoyed our holiday. The weather was good and we spent lots of time sitting out on the decking with a lovely view of the lake. Bar & restaurant nearby where we had a couple of nice meals and also a few beers sat outside after returning from an outing. You do get some noise from the motorway but that would not put us off going back. The lodge was well equipped and welcoming. A nice bottle of wine was in the fridge which was a nice touch. Plenty to do in the area. We visited the Lakeland Wildlife Oasis which our grandchildren loved. Had a pleasant walk along Lancaster canal from Tewitfield Marina. Also visited Morecambe which is only 20 minutes drive."

"The property was extremely clean and contained all the amenities as listed on the Sykes website, although (because of the nature of its construction) space in the second bedroom is a little limited. The only downside regarding the actual site of the South Lakes Leisure Village is that it really could benefit from additional external lighting. To walk back to the property from the Waters Edge Restaurant in the dark is a bit of a challenge without an efficient torch, and perhaps would deter some people from dining out. Overall, we can thoroughly recommend the location and quality of the property - we had a very enjoyable break."

"Cabin was beautiful owner was friendly & helpful and the holiday villiage was delightful! Our only problem was the heat which is not the cabin or the owners fault just so happens we went on the hottest weekend in years so the heat was stifling really could of done with a fan or two especially the 1st night the bedroom was like a sauna after being in sun all day next day was much better as we’d thought to keep curtains shut but still very warm...wouldn’t put us off staying again we’d probably opt for winter or when it’s actually British type summer instead of this heat we have at the moment."
