One of the few premises I have been in where the photographs on-line don't do justice to the size of this property. Bright, comfortable and well fitted, and impressive interior design. The hamper provided was also very good. Staff on the estate were friendly, helpful and cheerful. Food in the restaurant was very good, and the cafe was very pleasant Loss of a star for the following issues. We rarely felt warm in the bathroom, and adjustment of the temperature was too complex for this technophobe. Also, as the shower has an open end, it ***** in cold air, so it wasn't a comfortable experience. First use of it, on full, resulted in flooding part of the bathroom. It therefore wasn't possible to have it on full. I felt the heavy shutter screen provided to give some privacy across the front door, could be considered a hazard in the event of attempting to escape a fire. Wouldn't vertical blinds be better? They can also be drawn across. One of the exterior lights, at the bathroom end, is low and I banged my head on it. The two either side of the front door are higher, so why not this one? Finally, the A5 road is alongside, and although it did not affect our sleep I can see that in summer, sat on the terrace the noise could intrude.

The two soas were v uncomfortable and difficult to get up from. There was no fire glove and for a four night stay, only two fire lighters left. The pillows on the bed were lumpy and uncomfortable despite us changing them over and trying new positions every night ! The toiletries were quite sparse I thought. The bathroom fittings were all cheap. The shower was cheap - flimsy wire tray on the wall which wasn’t straight. The actual shower wouldn’t go hot enough as it was probably regulated not to go past a certain temperature- shouldn’t we be able to adjust to our own preference ? None of the windows fully opened - again they all appeared to be limited. There was no kitchen hand towel, not enough cups or mugs and only four dishwasher tabs left. The welcome hamper was v poor - v cheap sachets, a v scrappy two pieces of cheese, five eggs, five small eggs, three small pots of preserve and a white cling filmed loaf. I could go on. Heap white goods and the plinth below the under counter fridge kept falling down of its own accord as there seemed to be nothing holding it up. The lighting in the sitting area was poor. The furniture was well below par.

We have stayed previously in 2017 and a couple of issues still are outstanding as mentioned by several people in the visitors book. Otherwise it would have been 5 stars. One we consider to be dangerous The wooden privacy door screens. I have mobility issues and when alone in the Potting Shed found them difficult and unsafe to move - easily able to topple ( 5 broken hinges) and cause a serious injury.Even my husband found them unwieldy and cumbersome. The underfloor heating in the very large bathroom was not switched on but was eventually sorted, however it does not remain on and the bathroom is very cold without it, pulling in a draught to the open ended shower. That being said the place is prisitine and lovely to stay in. The grounds are a bonus and well kept. Just a note to say that the Deli is no longer in the grounds and we feel this is such a shame because it was very handy for picking up fresh goods and we missed its coffee shop area too, so bring back the Deli and its coffee shop!! Using the Granary Brasserie for breakfasts and as a coffee area doesn't work. Kind Regards
