"Absolutely beautiful lodge! People who have left bad reviews before clearly have nothing getter to do than pick holes! The lodge is spacious, clean and has everything you need. The hot tub is awesome, we spent most nights in the hot tub! The only thing that the please could do with is new mattresses (there fine just a little lumpy) and without a doubt WiFi, not to look up the latest Facebook goings on, but because the mobile reception is awful, so looking for a place to visit is a little troublesome at times (they're the only things that our group could think of needing). The owners are friendly and incredibly helpful. The surrounding area is stunning, there's no other word for it, the lake is breath taking as are most of the views where ever you go! Me and my partner fell for Rudyard and leek big time! One thing I will say is watch for speed cameras (not that many people would be driving fast around this area, it's too pretty to miss out on!) there are a lot of them around the area!As for eating out, I can't recommend the Rudyard hotel enough, the food is spot on and the carvery is without doubt the best I've ever had! The staff are friendly and helpful, as is everyone around the area!Over all the lodge is pretty perfect, we already agreed that we will be back next year to the same place! It stole the hearts of my partner and I and we will be back!"

"We stayed in Kipling lodge for a week with our dog at the end of Aug. The lodge was lovely with loads of space and was well equiped . The hot tub was amazing and we spent most of our evenings in there. The position of the lodge and surrounding area was Brilliant .. we walked round the lake every morning it was great to have it so close. The bedding and towels were clean and fresh...But it was such a shame that the kitchen was so dirty ..it was horrible .. we had to scrub the sides , tiles and cupboards before we could use them . The mattresses were so uncomfortable.. old and worn out and the sofas had both seen better days .(reviews from 2015 were saying the same thing!! ) I booked the lodge believing it had an enclosed garden so we could let the dog out on the grass but both sides are open although the wooden decking has been gated."

"Overall the cottage was just about okay. There were simple things that let it down.Positive-The cottage was in a good location for walking the manifold way up to Wetton hill and Thors cave. It was on the main road though and very noisy. It had character and the wood burner was good for warming the house up.The kitchen area was small but had good equipment. You would struggle to fit 4 people around table.Negative- overall cleanliness was really bad and comment book had many comments about this. The cushions on the sofa had lots of stains on them.Bedding was clean though.Main bed was uncomfortable and springs and electric blanket could be felt.Small tv which scratched our DVD and then wouldn't play others. The towels were too small.I wouldn't stay there again I'm afraid."

"We chose this property because of its location and size initially. It proved very easy to book and the emailed arrival instructions were also very clear. The welcome basket was the first of many super extras that the website did not mention or show. We have had many years of 'holiday lets' and without doubt this is the best we've ever experienced - in this country, Europe and USA. Everything has been tastefully decorated, the property is spotlessly clean, and has been so expertly equipped that nothing was left out. During our stay we made full use of the garden - for playing croquet, dining and just enjoying the atmosphere in the evenings. We would have no hesitation in recommending Overton Bank House to anyone."

"This is a cheap and cheerful little cottage. The lady who owns it is lovely and very helpful. There was tea, coffee, milk, biscuits, shower gel and especially impressive baby bath gel and a novelty sponge for the children in the cottage when we arrived. The cottage does require some improvements though: It needs a deep clean, we had to clean pans and drawers before we could use them. The uplighters have spiders living in them and there were a lot of cobwebs. The single room has a fire door in it with a push bar, if using this room with a child it’s a big concern for parents, it really should be mentioned in the cottage description. WiFi would be a great addition as the signal isn’t great."
