    Leek Holiday Cottages

Built around a cobbled market square, Leek is home to quirky shops, tempting cafes and an array of bakers and delicatessens where you can sample delicious local produce. This former textile market town is steeped in history. The artist, designer and writer William Morris studied here, and French prisoners were held captive here in the 19th century. Stroll around local markets, or enjoy picturesque countryside aboard the narrow gauge Leek and Rudyard Railway, taking in Caldon Canal and Staffordshire Moorlands. Tranquil Rudyard Lake is popular for walks and picnics and there are bike trails in the surrounding Peak District.

What our customers say about their holidays

    • Christine - Verified booking

The cottage was the perfect location and accommodation for the two of us and our large dog.

Fully kitted out kitchen, small bathroom (shower only), king size bed, two seater sofa etc. Very quiet location in the middle of farmed fields on the same site as the hosts home, but also a mile or two drive to a small convenience shop and a couple of pubs which do food too. Hosts incredibly friendly, and helpful with suggestions of places to go in the area. The hosts permit the use of the enclosed field opposite the front door to be used for dogs needing the toilet -supervised and cleared up of course- provided their animals (goats/ducks/chickens) are not roaming/ grazing in it. NB. This is where our dog discovered he could run and jump over 4.5ft high dry stone walls!!!! Amazingly (for such a rural area) excellent 3G connection too! Would not hesitate to stay here again.

We had the most amazing weekend for my moms 50th birthday.

Upon arrival there was a beautiful hamper filled with goodies and a birthday balloon, which was a thoughtful lovely touch. We walked up to the Black Lion pub for a couple of drinks on our first day, so that we could make the most of the hot tub for the rest of the afternoon. Whilst sat in the hot tub it was amazing to see so many birds and even some cows. We had a ride to Buxton the next day and the scenery around the area was truly beautiful. Overall, Hoobrook Cottage was clean, the facilities were brilliant. We had a small issue with the shower not draining on the first day, however, this was not an issue at all as the owners were so attentive and helpful. I can’t find a fault. Thank you so much for having us.

This accomodation was extremely comfortable which was very important as we stayed for a month, really home from home with everything to hand you could ever need.

It was really warm and cosy and the views of the surrounding countryside are superb. The hosts Thelma and Keith are a lovely couple and nothing was too much trouble. The fixtures and fittings and linens were all of the best quality and the kitchen was stocked with all the necessary utensils and appliances so a longer stay was easy to manage. My little Yorkshire terrier Oscar enjoyed the luxury and didn't really want to leave. We can highly recommend this accomodation, it certainly had the relaxing feel good factor we were looking for. Thanks to Thelma and Keith.

      Amazing stay, beautiful cottage.

Family of 5 and a little Yorkie really enjoyed our stay here between Christmas and new year. Lovely hamper to welcome us, dog beds and bowls, wood for the fire and a lovely hot tub as well as a few games in the cupboards to play in the evenings. Local pub, Black Lion Inn was dog friendly and food was fantastic. About a 5 min walk from the cottage although lighting is sparse on the walk back, it may be worth taking a torch as there’s no path (that we saw) Overall a stunning place and lovely break, thanks

      The stay exceeded expectation.

The cottage itself was in such a perfect location and so peaceful. It was fully equipped with everything you could possibly think of from tin foil to a cheese grater! My only constructive feedback would be that i wish it could sleep more than 1 well behaved dog as do feel its big enough and also the key would sometimes get stuck so it was a slight struggle to lock the door, but this didn't affect the overall satisfaction with the stay. Truly perfect and exactly what I needed over the New Year Break.
