"Lovely location, would recommend doing the hire a barge for a day ,but really you’d be better off hiring a barge for a week then you could work the locks.staff very friendly and helpful. The only downfall was that ,I don’t think the cottage had been used for a while, and you could strongly smell animals .the oven and extractor fan was dirty eg grease.there was dirty fat in a container in grill section and it smelt stale .but I just cleaned it and didn’t let it put us off our holiday,we had a fantastic time so please don’t let that experience put you off"

"A delightful cottage near to the owners house. Made to feel very welcome with Flowers and a welcome tray. February weather chilly but the cottage was really warm and cosy. The bed was very comfortable and we had everything we needed for our stay.About a mile out of Whitchurch but in a central position for exploring. We visited five National Trust properties during our weeks stay, including two in Wales. Chester, with it’s amazing black and white buildings, was in easy distance with a convenient park & ride."

"The Nook ideally suited our requirements as it allowed us to bring our lovely standard poodle with us. The cottage warm and Margaret had equipped it with everything needed for a few days break or a longer stay - next time I will be sure to travel much lighter! However, we did find the bed a bit snug, but hey it was just for 3 nights. One of the mornings we took Teddy for a walk down to the Tyrley locks - 5 minutes away - and enjoyed watching the barges goes through. Highly recommended."

"The location was very nice and the scenery was very good, the cottage was a good size and clean, but it needs redecorating it’s showing it’s age, there is also a smell of wet dog, especially upstairs and there must have been pets there recently as it set my daughters asthma off, also the bath is a worry as the bottom of the bath is very flexible which is disturbing. The kitchen is good and the rooms are a good size, overall it just needs redecorating apart from the kitchen."

"A superb property for a larger family gathering. Very spacious and very well equipped for family meals. Peaceful location and yet so close to great amenities. We did not venture far but made full use of the fantastic play area; playing tennis, badminton and French cricket for hours and then relaxing in the pool - perfect! Very fair and easy way to pre book times for both. The owners are a delight and made us very welcome. One of our most enjoyable family holidays."
